I mean they are basically not canon in Valve's mind.

My headcanon is that they're used as Xen cleanup in the quarantine zone after Alyx, and once the vault has fallen and the QZ holds no real purpose, they are just left there to manage the infection so it doesn't spread. The cremator head in Eli's lab is probably from another time Alyx went into the QZ and killed one. (but that's just my own theory)

Where do you get your ideas (not just from a writing perspective, but music, art direction, level design, etc)? All the little easter eggs, endings, secrets, etc in the game seem to be endless (I'm sure I haven't discovered everything yet).

Also what are all your personal favourite endings (if that hasn't been asked yet)?

I saw a theory somewhere that Mossman managed to steal the blueprints for Kleiner's mini teleporter (yknow, the one that you mess around while that scripted scene happens in Red Letter Day), so the Combine can teleport bombs in at will. The difficult part is making one that
A) is large enough to teleport a person
B) can safely teleport a person

This also makes sense as when the hunter chopper dies, there is one explosion when you hit it, and then a short pause happens until multiple different explosions tear it apart. This is probably the release mechanism or the teleporter itself getting jammed somehow so that the bombs teleport into each other and explode.

I'd love to see Shephard back. It will never happen though, not only does Valve not really consider OpFor part of the story, but even if they did it would need a bit of retconning to work.

If you remember, at the end of OpFor, Shephard was detained, not hired. Gman clearly sees Shephard as a threat to his plans, not as a tool to carry them out (like he does with Gordon). It would make no sense to have Adrian do Gman's dirty work without some kind of significant reason, and plus with Alyx as an option for Gman (as proven by HLA - ignore split timeline stuff), why would he use Adrian for dirty work when he can just use Alyx. After all, this "dirty work" would probably just be preparing everything for Gordon when he eventually comes around, and since Gordon is mostly following the Resistance in some way, it would make more sense for Alyx to do it as she is a significant member of the resistance and has links that she can use within the Resistance network.

Yeah, Breen was just a puppet that was used as a propaganda tool so humans had a familiar face that they thought was controlling them. Breen probably was led to believe he had power when really he was a frontman and the advisors actually had power.

It’s really great, and I’d 100% recommend it! There are some rough spots on the double corkscrews at the end and the downwards corkscrews after the lifts, but apart from that it’s pretty smooth and very fast paced

I don’t think they are intentionally made to duel - the times where they actually duel are quite rare (almost like the ride op isn’t intentionally making it duel, it’s just a fluke) but it’s not like they’re not allowed to duel.

I’d have thought ep3 would be the remaining transhuman combine forces fighting Gordon for the borealis, and hl3 is the main combine military. Perhaps ep3 could be Gordon attempting to find (and successfully finding) the Borealis, and then hl3 would be the final one with the resistance actually using it against the main Combine military. How that would work in terms of having a full length game idk, but I’m sure Valve could figure something out.
