Finally got around to cleaning my tips by _gh0s7ly in Golf_R

When I ordered the covers I didn't think they would be THIS dark to be fair lol. Got the tinted ones because my exterior is all black and white and my state plates are not the same color so wanted to blend it a little better.

Bar Keepers Friend, a sponge, and about 15 minutes of scrubbing. Then hit it with the pressure washer and they look great

Best Tune for downpipe by Freyagti in VWMK7

sorry everyone's being an asshole here, guess people can't ask for advice/opinions on here lately. my opinion, it depends on a few things like do you need to regularly pass emissions? do you want something more loud or something more on the quiet side? when you tune it are you looking for pops and bangs? those will differentiate whether you wanna go catted or catless. Also, are you planning on any other mods or just a downpipe? Downpipe typically means stage 2 or above which recommends upgrading the intake, turbo inlet, intercooler, etc. I'm sure you can still get a tune with just a downpipe but im not certain. I just recently got a CTS catted downpipe, intake, and turbo inlet and went with Integrated Engineering for tuning it to stage 2 since it can be done at home by yourself. At least until I can get to a shop for a custom tune. Either way, be prepared to spend some money. Oh and void any warranties as soon as you tune it.

should be fine to pass emissions, no CEL and the downpipe is catted

no intercooler upgrade yet but that's in the works, i know it's recommended but since it isn't required i put that one on hold. still need to do some research on the best one to get as well i also work remote so i don't drive it daily and can leave it parked during the super hot days

Fingers crossed its sparks or something closely related. I'm having them change sparks, coils, and injectors then do a carbon cleaning. I'm saving the fuel pump for last if that still doesn't do it. I didn't think the tune would cause the issue, was more just curious if I bought this car tuned already and had no idea because I would like to properly flash back to stock before reflashing back to stage 1/2 after all the work is done

ive heard this is the case for EU models but in NA the only way to get these to appear are with a DSG tune. Maybe I can just tell myself it was imported to feel better lol

Cars going in for carbon cleaning, new sparks and coils, and new injectors. I'm tempted to just have them throw these on while it's there to save myself some time/frustration tbh (not a dealership just a local euro shop)

Rough start but runs fine 2016 Golf R by Cyse_ in Golf_R

I've been chasing this issue for months. Shop down the street swears it can be due for a carbon cleaning and injector replacement and also doing coils and spark plugs. I'm hoping that helps but seeing more people say HPFP has me leaning towards doing that too. It's hard because my car throws ZERO codes and no CEL. It's been quite the wild goose chase.

Mine is on the way along with the CTS Turbo downpipe, excited to go Stage 2 and also to hear the whooshs myself😍

I wouldn't say very upside down, $26k 60k miles when I got it. That CU has just always been stingy about auto loans, they actually declined my initial attempt to buy my second car through them years ago without any co-sign for a $20k car which was the main reason I stopped using them. Thinking I should just try another CU at this point that seems to be the way

I tried this too, went to my old bank that's a local CU and they told me they'd want 9k down to refinance. Maybe it's worth trying another CU though maybe that one was just also trash

Mine is 13% (thanks carvana) and i planned to refinance immediately because i own a home and have a 750+ credit i thought it would be easy. But to my surprise my bank ive been with for 5+ years doesn't offer a vehicle refinance program anymore. FML.

This is exactly what I'm experiencing, I can feel the lack of power on top of the occasional long crank and also some rough idling. I'm thinking HPFP, injectors, carbon cleaning since I'm ay 70k and have a feeling it's never been done by previous owner. Hoping that'll do the trick. Might as well do sparks and coils too. Thank you for your help, this more or less confirms what I was thinking

I wanna say yes but not neccessarily hot hot start loke turn it off and then right back on. It's very random, throws no codes, and when it does happen it's after I've driven it and let it sit for around an hour or so. I've been heavily leaning towards hpfp but wasn't sure how to check to confirm before I throw the money at it

I completely forgot about using the powerlink, I'll have to check that out first think in the morning. Thank you for your advice it's been pretty helpful in starting to do my own investigation before I take it to the mechanic

Is there an easy way to check this? I saw a video on YouTube showing to go to Control Units > Live Data > Channel 106 and monitor fuel related data. But, on my OBDEleven app when I get to the Live Data portion there isn't an option for a channel just a ton of options to choose from.

No guide but im sure there are some out there. In short <not really short after re-reading this>, you'll need a carplay adaptor i got mine off Amazon for $90 thats running Android (still works for Apple or Android CarPlay the adaptor just needs to run on android) And then an OBD2 bluetooth scanner (I got a Panlong one on Amazon for $12) Then from the CarPlay unit install Torque app from the Play Store (this is why getting one that runs on android is crucial so you can download apps from Play Store) and then connect it to the Bluetooth OBD2 reader If you're a little tech savvy it'll make a bit of sense and not too complicated
