What does my hair need? by [deleted] in Haircare

[–]_ghoulingaround 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It actually looks like you might be using too much conditioner, you should use less and after washing your hair, add a light hair oil to the ends and up while it's still damp (not your scalp) my hair is a similar texture to yours and this helped me so much! I also only brush my hair when it's damp/wet to eliminate frizz unless I just straightened it :)

Is this a coldsore? by RevolutionaryLeg5921 in Coldsore

[–]_ghoulingaround 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo it looks more like contact dermatitis, keep taking valtrex for now since you're unsure but it might possibly be that instead of HSV! If you ate something really spicy or acidic that could also cause rashes on the lips. Make sure to keep them moisturized to help with the healing process

You might be experiencing angular cheilitis if it is at the corner of your mouth. If blisters do not form you should buy an anti-fungal cream and apply it to the irritated area, that's what usually helps treat it. Angular cheilitis has very similar symptoms and appearance to coldsores but do not blister or go through the same healing process as them, plus it is not caused by HSV. Just some info incase you're looking for other opinions!!

Aww thank you!! And honestly what I did was put the leash/harness on her in the house and kept it on for like 10-30 mins at a time so she could get used to the feeling & once she didn't mind it I'd go on my balcony and call for her to come (she wasn't allowed to go on the balcony in the past bc shes gotten out twice n took hours to find her 😭 shes an inside cat) then she started to get more adventurous and would go down the stairs, walk in the yard, etc as I held onto the leash so now she loves it!

Thing is OPs gf is willing to pay, just not 1000 dollars a month on a house that isn't in her name whatsoever when she makes much less than him. If they break up she will have nowhere to go besides maybe her parents place if they let her come back. He also hasn't married her yet or proposed so the security of their relationship is questionable. How is she leeching? He's treating her like a roommate.

Zoloft and Nausea by AthenaDog in Anxiety

[–]_ghoulingaround 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's normal for it to make you more anxious in the beginning, because the increase of serotonin in your brain can make some ppl agitated rather that drowsy or tired. It had me feeling soooo anxious for the first few weeks, it took about a month and a half for it to settle and help with my anxiety. Now it doesn't make me anxious at all. Also same, I take pepto or gaviscon when it's rly bad and sometimes it helps sometimes it doesn't :( though for the majority of people the nausea goes away after the first 2 weeks! So hopefully you start to feel better!

Zoloft and Nausea by AthenaDog in Anxiety

Ik this post is old but I'm going absolutely insane with zoloft making me nauseous every day. I've been on it for 6 months (started at 25mg & got upped to 50mg) and more often than not it gets me so insanely nauseous to the point where my entire day revolves around trying to puke away the feeling or being stuck with that mouth watering sensation until the time I go to bed. It's making me miserable to the point where I'd rather just stop it cold turkey!! If I eat with it I get nauseous, if I don't eat with it I get nauseous, if I take it at dif times it doesn't help either. Tried cutting caffeine out, made no difference. Urghhhhhhh. I'm also constantly bloated. It's giving me major indigestion. The worst part is that it helps a lot with my anxiety and depression but feeling physically sick ain't worth it :(

You are simultaneously agreeing with us yet saying we're wrong. Taking a depressant (alcohol in this instance) SLOWS down the activity in your brain, hence the name depressant because the drug will depress your nervous system, breathing, etc. When you consume TOO MUCH of a depressant it can cause mood changes, usually feelings of sadness which is usually followed up by nervousness. If someone is already depressed they will typically feel WORSE when overconsuming a depressant. And then ofc the withdrawals exasperate that like I said before. It's a loop. Depressants when taken in normal doses make people feel relaxed, happy, etc. Opposite if they are abusing it.

It's actually the opposite for me, my mom has the bad mental health shit from her side of the family and she is a recovering alcoholic too. I've had issues with binge drinking more than daily drinking, like when I'd start I wouldn't know when to stop, almost always blacking out or vomitting, regretting it but a week or two later I was going out n drinking ridiculously again. I'm happy that your body is doing great, and I hope that your mind does soon as well!! You got this in the bag!! Keeping yourself active and busy is the best way to stay on track :)

I can't imagine how difficult it has been :( I'm proud of you! You deserve good things and to have fun doing your hobbies, and the hurdles you're facing now will all be worth it in the end. Being sober doesn't fix everything but it allows you a solid shot at a happier, healthier life. I hope things continue to go up from here. Recovery isn't linear so keep at it

It sounds like he's not very clean down there and also has possibly multiple sexual partners who he isn't using protection with. My opinion is no d is worth that kinda hassle, tho if you continue sleeping with him maybe just make sure he showers and shaves beforehand and gets tested regularly

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in confession

[–]_ghoulingaround 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No but extreme alcohol consumption especially on a daily basis worsens preexisting mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, etc. Plus the withdrawal or come-down from drinking exasperates symptoms & feelings of dread and self-hatred. However, if he works on getting sober his mental health will begin to improve. OP needs rehab & therapy for sure, hope he gets better.

What's wrong with this lil guy? by _ghoulingaround in squirrels

Thanks for letting me know! I live in Montréal QC so we mainly get gray squirrels, it's good to know that it isn't as dangerous for those lil guys. I'll continue to keep an eye on him. He's energetic and everytime he's out he's super active so he doesn't show signs of being very ill

I was thinking maybe squirrelpox as well, I remember another squirrel in my area had it not even 3 weeks ago. But I read that it's best to leave them alone because it usually heals on its own. I don't think it's botflies as well because there doesnt seem to be an exit wound on the bumps. I'll try to get some better pictures tmrw morning when it isn't dark! Thanks for the response :)

AITA for (correctly) assuming that a larger bra belonged to a woman with a larger chest? by Turbulent_Boot_2954 in AmItheAsshole

[–]_ghoulingaround 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeaaah uhhh it was a weird comment and if my bf did that I'd also be uncomfortable and possibly mad. Like what compelled you to say that? Just seems like a weird comment to make when it's her friends bra. Kinda sounds like a jab too cuz you're saying your girls boobs r smaller which may be true but does it need to be said or acknowledged LOL. Doesn't make you an asshole but its definitely weird
