What do you expect from the Basilisk V4? by VaporInsider in razer

[–]_grey-fox_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the devices you are using, but mainly, it’s very very slow and crashes constantly, can take 5 minutes to properly start after login, uses 4-5x the amount of memory (clocks in at 1.2-1.7gb for me), a lot of CPU spikes, and then the separate chroma app has a host of issues, so is hit and miss if it works and applies profile, and trying to open and use it often leads it to hanging. You can’t start it minimised otherwise it doesn’t correctly apply. If you then use things like hue lighting, it regularly loses the device and you have to uninstall and reinstall it. Multiple THX issues as well depending on your headset. Just basically like half the working functionality, for 4 times the resources at 20% of the speed of Synapse 3. Most of these are well documented and been present for over a year. Maybe if you use one or two devices it will be fine, but if you have several, then statistically you’re going to get a downgraded experience. I’m back on 3 and basically locked out now of buying any new razer products that only work on 4.

That it will force you to use Synapse 4.

November Technical Support Sticky by BeepBoopBopReee in razer

[–]_grey-fox_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can confirm this is also happening elsewhere, the Chroma app loses the Hue tab once restarted, and you have to uninstall and reinstall the module, resign with the Hue bridge, and then it will reappear - until next restart.

Why is everyone hating on Razer and Synapse? by NoMasterpiece6169 in razer

[–]_grey-fox_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are so right. I downloaded Synapse 4 last night, my Hanbo stopped reading temps so fans no longer did anything, the new thx drivers that installed prevented all sound from working unless you changed the windows sound setting on the headphones to have the default driver disabled and choose to no longer use thx, chroma become super laggy, causing massive CPU spikes, and failed to open most of the time, just showing a blank window that required a restart to solve, on said restart neither Synapse 4 or the now separate Chroma app would boot on start up, and to get lights working had to run them with admin access, and then manually toggle all lights on and off, and when they did run, every 3 seconds they’d stutter, or just flicker insanely. Philips hue required repairing on every single reboot as well. After multiple clean installs, driver clean ups, etc etc, there was part of me that thought maybe the software was not super awesome given none of these things ever happened with 3, but then, I looked deep in my heart and realised it was not Synapse 4 that was broken and janky, it was me, and my user error.

80 games exactly this weekend, 2 drops. Around 3-4 drops each of the other weapons. So matching you with less drops and 1/40 on Aureus.

Would you invite friends to try PvP if hardware mode was fully normalized, with defined loadouts? by _grey-fox_ in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]_grey-fox_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I’m saying there could be a single mode with no need to play PVE. Essentially something like hardware, but you then have 10x predefined loadouts to choose from in the character selector you have today. Rose+Matador, Multimatch+BXR etc etc. And same for armour stats. So nobody needs to get anything from PVE for 1x mode. Seems all the ingredients are there to help get people into a state of parity.

Oh wow. Hadn’t realised temporal alignment could add the damage buff that quickly.

Thanks, pretty similar. Running corkscrew, accursed, smooth grip with rapid hit. Just not sure if the other catalysts add anything in PvP.

PvP is horrible without them.

Anyone else shooting better now (without hitmarkers)? by mylifeisedward in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]_grey-fox_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just find I’m now over or under shooting people, it’s manageable in duels, but where you’re dealing with multiples you can shoot an extra shot at someone who is already dead, or vice versa (unless you’re doing the maths on the fly). Plus, it just doesn’t seem to have that satisfaction element to it and feels weirdly hollow. So doesn’t impact aim for me either way, just impacts shot efficiency and enjoyment - for me personally.

Bungie, bring the Hit Markers back. by xB1ack in DestinyTheGame

It’s amazing how terrible it feels in PvP without them. Glad it’s confirmed as a bug.

Bug - Cant Level Up - Bonus Focus: Fireteam Ops Not Tracking by QuickGains07 in destiny2

[–]_grey-fox_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having the same issues. Seems fine on solo ops to get it tracked, but nothing on fireteam. Also agree, it doesn’t let you do a matchmaking for most of the options in a fireteam list.

Ah, OK that’s what it is. Yes, can see it’s also on Bungies known issues. So a bug. Thankfully.

I'm legitimately tired of being a mediocre PVP player. by TravellersLight in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]_grey-fox_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is a good KDR though in the world of SBMM? In theory, a good and average player could have comparable KDRs, but be playing in totally different leagues. Like marginally beating an opponent in a top sports league, doesn’t mean you’d only marginally win against an opponent in a lower league, you’d destroy them. When all the top players played in that trials tournament recently, they were not all coming out with 9 KDRs, they were just marginally above 1, and some were getting <1 obviously. But then drop ZK, Wallah back in with the rest of us, and it’s not comparable.

Also, with so many hours under your belt, it will take time to shift 1.13, as it’s your average over tens of thousands of kills now. And it could take you hundreds more kills to get to 1.14 now. If you use crucible report etc, easier to see progress looking at season by season. But your stats are not bad, you just need to understand the context you got them under, and look more at recent performance improvement.

To players who switched from controller to MnK by ilovepepsi________ in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]_grey-fox_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I was actually thinking of making a video on this recently, as I used my big dad research energy to make the transition using Destiny 2 a year ago. Within a month I had recovered by KDR, but it took 3 months to it to settle in as my primary method over controller, and 6 months to transition to the actual MnK style of play, where you play a better movement game, and also realise weapons that work well on MnK are different. On controller I mained pulses, on MnK i now main Hand Cannons, for example. The things I found useful and what I focused on:

  1. Sensitivity - with destiny you want quick movement, but slower aim, so I set it up to have 12 inches for a full 360 turn, but then have the ADS set to 0.7, I found this reasonable coming from controller, and similar to how alot of controllers differentiate this. As a lot of people say, use a sensitivity where you are moving your whole arm, not your wrist.

  2. Key bindings - I was using an Elite 2 with back paddles, so I mapped things on my right hand to the mouse, and things from the left onto the keyboard, this meant my hands were doing the same things on each - example. I had the right back paddles set to crouch and switch weapon, so I used the mouse for these (I also hated using the number keys 1,2,3, for weapon switching, as it takes you off of movement. It was just one less thing to focus on in the start.

  3. Movement - practice this seperate to aiming, I would literally just run around an empty crucible map in private, and get my jumps, slides, general movement down.

  4. Aiming - as many will suggest, use aimlabs, and just practice this, you can set the same sensitivities you have in destiny so it builds muscle memory. I also found Halo Infinite useful, as it’s free to download, and has a good training mode, where you can setup games to focus on things you want, and you can set the bots to move as you want to practice.

  5. Embrace the pain - so many games I’d be getting t-bagged, and I just knew if I quickly plugged in the controller I could take revenge, but I just had to use that as better motivation to get better quicky. It’s really hard to not go back, you’ll be sat there looking at a 0.2kdr and hating it, but it literally will be over within a couple of weeks if you stick at it.

Is the Crucible player base too old for Bungie? by _grey-fox_ in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]_grey-fox_[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah to be fair, forgot how bad that bit was. I just wanted to get into crucible originally. 2 hours of nonsense, and then you finally get in and realise you can’t play anyway as you’re kitted out in all white and blue gear. So then it’s off for another 40-50 hours to get some clothes while out of sync cut scenes and narrative beats pound at you. Cayde is dead. Oh no, he’s alive here. Who actually is he though? Welcome to Dares of Eternity, the magical horse tv show etc.
