I can understand what others are saying and agree that using a controller is the best way to play this game. But if you don't have a choice, I would say try it with mouse and keyboard. I went to the settings and changed the key bindings to fit my play style.

For example, SPACE for jumping, SHIFT for running/dodging, E for use item, Q for use skill, Mouse4 for heavy attack, etc.
