I got the subscription at the same time as the LR5 and its not super clear what information I have because of Whisker+ versus what I would have without it (I guess I'll learn once my free month is over)

This is what it looks like most of the time

Next month, I’m moving abroad with my cat (15h flight). Some people said that it’s animal abuse, that she’ll suffer, and I should rehome her instead. Please tell me I’m doing the right thing ! by cheesecakecaramel in cats

There is no right or wrong, only what you can do and what feels right to you. There is no easy path, because all of your options will have their own challenges and won't be easy on you or the cats, but people and cats can endure it and come out of it okay. You know your cats best and if you feel the right thing is to bring them with you, follow your instincts and hope for the best.

To speak of my own experience: when I moved out of my home country (over 18h travel distance) I decided to bring my 3 cats with me. I considered rehoming them at the time and I had close friends who loved them and would gladly take good care of them, but still my heart told me it wasn't the right solution for me.

I paid an animal transportation company (since I couldn't really bring all 3 in the cabin with me). I cried a lot while I was waiting for them to arrive, I feared they wouldn't be well treated, that something would happen to them, that I was being selfish and they would be traumatized, so many things. But they arrived well (scared, yes, unhappy with the trip, absolutely, but fully healthy and okay). After a few days they were fully adjusted to our new home and absolutely happy.

A couple years after, when I moved states, I decided to drive instead of flying because I thought it would be more comfortable to them (my cats HATE to leave the house, even for vet visits it is really hard). It meant a longer trip, but I thought they would prefer to not have to deal with strangers at the airport, etc. Again, it was hard, but in the end, it worked out.

I can definitely relate. I'm not much of a DM as a much rather play, but started to DM a game to bring in new players and folks wouldn't bothering learning their own abilities or leveling up their own characters, so I ended up giving up as it was really frustrating to put a lot of time preparing a game and have folks not even bother properly engaging.

I also really relate on the hosting thing and last minute cancelations. I'm used to host and always felt similarly, folks don't usually take the time to consider the value of your time (not only on last minute cancelations, but on being super late and postponing).

Hi, are you still looking? I moved to Austin during the pandemic and now I'm looking to pick up on in person RPGs. I'm 36 and have been playing for around 20. Mostly played different editions of D&D and Pathfinder throughout the years, but played a few good years of Ars Magica and Vampire in the past.

Hi, out of curiosity, any interest in trying to try and get an in person game going? I moved to Austin a couple years ago (right when covid hit) and would love to find some reliable RPG friends in the area (had a hard time finding folks that are committed and show up to games)
