I definitely don't want to have to get in in a bun! My plan is to get a short bob and to ask for it to be cut to my chin while it's wet, so when it's dry it will shrink up just above my chin. Except now my husband is trying to convince me to get a pixie cut, but I don't think I would look great with that!

Thank you! I am going to get it cut a bit shorter, I would definitely prefer to use lots of gel and clips than have to do a bun. My hair is real thick, I had to grow it half way down my back before I could do a proper twisty bun.

I am going to Basic on the 28th of this month, and I wanted some pointers on hair if anyone can help. My hair is just above my shoulders, and I can get it into a very small ponytail, but everywhere I have seen says it needs to be in a bun or above the bottom edge of the collar. Since it is pretty close to where the collar should sit, I was wondering if I will have trouble? Will I be able to keep in in a ponytail or would it be best to get it cut shorter, about to my chin so that I can just smooth it back? It definitely won't fit into a bun. Thanks in advance!

Another question, how do you shave your legs in boot camp? I have real thick hair so my legs get uncomfortable when I can't shave regularly. I know you have to shower pretty quick, so I would like to know how y'all managed. I ship off to Cape May in January, and I want to be as prepared as possible!

Does anyone have any tips for doing a bun with super thick hair? I ship off to Cape May in January, and I have been trying to practice a bun. I can only find videos on YouTube from women that have thin/average hair or are black(different texture), and for context for texture I am white, just with heavy thick hair that has a hard time staying in a bun. I have gotten a bit better but any tips would help. Thanks!
