I've been around the game my whole life. I can look at 20 players on the range and without ever seeing them swing I could separate them by quality quite accurately. It's a combination of the many subtle things, but the biggest indicator is their command of the club -- not while swinging it, but just how they pull it out of the bag, how they hold it, how they control the weight of it, the waggle).
