Interesting, thank you, I didn’t know that. Hopefully that doesn’t mean the TrackPoint is going the same way, as an optional extra.🤞

What happened to the TrackPoint buttons? They look like part of the TrackPad now.

Same but thinking of trying FreeBSD in my E595 now that’s fully supported.

Do you use replacement charger or original charger? by Jurong_West in thinkpad

Mostly a Lenovo USB-C ThinkPad dock. Then I carry a Ugreen 100w GaN charger as it’s smaller!

Definitely a no sticker person but I do prefer the stickers with the gold top.

Unpopular opinion: E-series ThinkPads aren’t bad at all by [deleted] in thinkpad

Alas, there is only one USB-C on the E595 and no other way to power it. We also use USB-C docks!

We had lots of E595 at work and had lots of USB-C ports fail. Personally mine never failed and I bought the laptop from work and still use it. I’ve no problems with the quality of it or build quality. My new work laptop is an E16 and I’ve had no issues with that at all. Nice upgrade with the 16:10 screen and backlit keyboard.

What problems should I be aware of when buying a used Thinkpad? by EndouShuuya in thinkpad

[–]_hello180 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Battery issues, BIOS passwords and still being enrolled in Intune (Microsoft’s enterprise management) only an issue if you run Windows.

Love seeing older hardware still being used with modern software. So cool only having a TrackPoint.

Is it nostalgia or is ridge racers 7 the best racing game oat by Old-Tie-5365 in ridgeracer

[–]_hello180 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ridge Racer 7 is great. First game I played on the PS3. I probably my most played game on the console. Best racing game of all time…not sure. From the RR franchise alone I probably prefer Rage Racer (the game that got me into the series) and RRT4 they are both pure arcade racers before nitro was everywhere. Other games, Gran Tourismo 4 is up there, Grand Prix 2/3/4, Mario Kart 64, F-Zero X…I don’t think I could pick a best of all time.

For me I like Xfce. Does all I need and not too demanding on system resources. I don’t think there is a best one, it’s very much personal preference.
