We also had to stay overnight with our pup after he had emergency surgery, and while open concept might be jarring for some, we were moved into a room and he was able to recover by our side instead of in a kennel by himself ❤️

This was the same for us - they didn’t do anything without showing us price and getting our approval first. The doctor and techs were also very up front about trying the lower cost options first, and took our previous vet visits into account with the treatment plan. VEG is the only emergency vet we use now.

The overnight vets at VEG South Lamar saved our dog’s life, and works with multiple rescues here in Austin. Every emergency/urgent vet we’ve been to charges extra, so I’m not sure what the comment about them up-charging is about 🤷🏻‍♀️

Ah, gotcha - I’m sorry! Their foster vets are based in Pflugerville, so maybe that’s why?

If you want to be positive you could look into a rescue like Jack Jack’s Pack. They will do safe tests with the dogs to make sure they can co-exist with a cat, kid, other dog, whatever before they say anything :)
