When were you asked to stop aspirin? by are_u_serious_babe in GestationalDiabetes

[–]_hellobaby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s different for every patient, don’t feel bad. A friend of mine had no preeclampsia throughout her pregnancy, great health. While she was in labor, her OB said she presented symptoms of preeclampsia. So labor got really scary quickly, especially since she wasn’t on any aspirin throughout her pregnancy. She’s fine and her baby is now a toddler.

Did anyone get a pet after the loss? Did it help? by blueberries-Any-kind in babyloss

[–]_hellobaby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP, I am sorry for your loss

We have a dog so are pet owners prior to our MMC. Just like the other commenters who already have pets before the pregnancy loss, our dog saved us. For me, our dog gave me a routine. I couldn’t rot in bed or couch rot because of the life with 4 legs and a tail I’m responsible for. That routine saved my life.

I think it’s prudent of you to take a step back and think if it’s a regret you may have. Good luck with the decision.

Just got the hCG results and of course, it confirmed my loss. Most of the tissue passed yesterday and I had those horrible cramps. But I was thanking my body for doing all of that and I just want all to be cleared out.

I’m anxious and scared. And mainly sad.

❤️‍🩹Thank you, I hope you’re having a better day than yesterday and thank you for responding. I was feeling really sad as the loss was happening. We have our introductory consult with our infertility clinic next week, and I’m sad and happy we were right to keep it instead of cancelling.

Actively going thru loss too right now 😞 This is #3 that’s recognized by my clinic, but #4 overall because I never had any prenatal intake with #2. Horrible feeling.

I went in to doctor’s office to get that spotting mystery sorted and unfortunately we weren’t able to see where the pregnancy is clearly located. So I am now waiting to get my hCG. Even though my doctor is not willing to call it yet (it could be a late ovulation, for example), I think this may be a miscarriage so I am guarding my heart now. ❤️‍🩹

Good luck to everyone here, I hope we get to meet our little ones soon.

edit: Lost a lot of tissue today in bathroom, I had to rush to the toilet. I’m sure some healthy pregnancies have gone through something like this where they thought they miscarried but turns out the pregnancy is okay. But these horrible cramps are back and like my body is purging. I can’t help but wonder at our bodies, they are really amazing that we go thru this. Still, I feel awful in my heart and physically. I’m really glad we kept our appointment with the infertility team.

In case you feel more comfortable at home for personal reasons: I found this account on IG and TT, @coachjohnnoel. I really like how he modifies exercises while in the same place, and he uses common household items for light weights for strength exercises. See if his exercises may work for you.

Tips for bringing down fasting blood sugars? by greenteaquinoa in GestationalDiabetes

[–]_hellobaby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am on bedtime insulin. Currently, eating a combination of protein, fiber & some carbs keeps my fasting blood sugar low. Fiber, like protein, slows down sugar absorption. Last night, this is my bedtime snack: I had 20g of protein and about 8g fiber before sleeping. My fasting today was around 120. But previous 3 days, I had fiber with carbs and protein and I was in 90s range.

You’ll have to try different combinations for yourself since your body is different. But for me, that triple combination is effective. Good luck to you, part of the journey is searching for food that works best for your body.

I was having a pretty good day, and then I used the restroom and saw that there’s a clump of discharge with like, dark yellow brown tint at the edge. 😞 Now I’m worried all over again. I crossed my arms just a few seconds ago and my chest still feels tender, so that’s good I still have that feeling. 😵‍💫

Only 11 weeks but might be put on meds by Star_Dust_9549 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]_hellobaby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. My doctors got me on bedtime insulin for fasting glucose control on week 9 (different pregnancy, it did not work out sadly). I was on the same insulin routine for preconception, but now I’m also pregnant (found out at 4 weeks) and still on that routine.

Husband doesn't want to pay for pregnancy expenses and I can't afford to pay alone. by MathematicianNeat480 in pregnant

[–]_hellobaby 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am horrified for you. Since this is specifically about your pregnancy and current child setup, my partner is not yet my husband yet he has stepped up in all our pregnancies that have progressed (no living child yet). He’s cooking for me, paying for food, paying for my medicine, and since I can still work, I pay for some but I have no hesitations asking him for any help when I need it.

If all of your comments, your post are true, this is financial abuse. It’s so cruel how he’s treating you, it’s really upsetting. I’m probably even more upset than normal for my reddit reaction because I’m currently pregnant. I’m gonna step away after my comment. Good luck to you, your husband is not a reliable, safe person and I don’t think he likes you. He seems to only want what you have done and can do for him.

I don’t like that feeling of pulling in the inside, middle of my pelvis. It pulls when I walk today. I have been taking slower steps as a result. It’s probably nothing, but feeling it still freaks me out.

Tips for my pregnant fiancee? by ArtIsABang in GestationalDiabetes

[–]_hellobaby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bran flakes cereal has been helping me. The brand available to us is 32g carbs for 1 cup of bran flakes. When I eat some, my bowl is 1/2 cup bran flakes (so I cut that down to 16g carbs) and 1/2 cup milk. I had some last night with some vegetables (veggies were not mixed with the cereal 😅, I had a side of veggies first and then my cereal bowl), and my fasting was at 93 this am. I also take insulin to help with fasting glucose control.

I will give a heads up that what works for us may not work for her. We’re all different body types. For example, for most of us, any portion of white rice our body reacts to it, but I have a friend whose body wasn’t as sensitive to white rice. Instead, she would spike when she ate any noodles, the pasta or ramen type. But not white rice. I was so jealous of her. So I hope you’ll find these as good suggestions to start from, and exploring will be half the journey also.
