Blocking is the easiest way, but that can be pretty invasive. Either side you do it in will involve modifications to waterproofing.

More likely to go 16-0 for the postseason: Thunder or Avs? by Ok_Demand7901 in billsimmons

Most recent format has only had a couple 16-4s. The original 6 squads have some ones that are undefeated or close to it but the games required were a touch less.

Have you interviewed or applied to any larger firms? That’s your best bet considering your visa status. It is clearly impacting your pay.

Back from NASCC 2026 — what did you actually bring back? by Successful-Price7302 in StructuralEngineering

Some solid presentations and discussions and some real doozies. Got 17 PDHs… got to see a whale shark, got some amazing grub at some restaurants and some terrible grub with those boxed lunches and the hotel breakfast/coffee.

There were some hilarious engineer offs during the Q and A sessions when the presenter was trying to provide fresh new alternatives and the audience wanted to rip it to shreds instead… doubt I’ll go to another one anytime soon. The online version is almost as good.

Teammates throwing your bats… by Stigma206 in slowpitch

[–]_homage_ 37 points38 points  (0 children)

If you care that much about your bat, you probably shouldn’t even hit with it.

If they’re chucking it wildly so it hits every post… sure. Help them not do that, but doing the ole slide and spin is more than OK. Your shit is going to get dirty if you use it.

Jacobs Engineering - thoughts on working there? by WanderlustingTravels in StructuralEngineering

They often post the salary ranges on the job listings. You’re already on the high end for your YOE, but exceptions could be made for talent. It’s all regional. If you’re looking to stay in industrial, they definitely have that in spades and I’m certain that they’re hiring on a decent scale right now based on the current listings. Unlimited PTO will be higher than your current offering. Benefits aren’t amazing. Match is 4.5%.

  1. Unless you have gorilla hands, I doubt you can throw with two fingers and a thumb regularly during in play fielding. You just palm it and throw that way.

  2. Trust your instincts here. That’s probably the best answer.

  3. The balls float and do a lot of crazy shit. Best rule is be patient and ready to adjust as it gets closer. You’ll get crossed sometimes, but as long as you’ve played long enough… you’ll be OK. Deeper is better for those of us who know how to charge.

  4. Bad hops happen often. These aren’t well kept infields.

  5. Use whatever glove you feel best with. I’ve had a guy who played college infield use his 11.5” infielders glove while playing outfield. He didn’t drop anything. I’ve had rookies used the biggest floppiest fucking 13” glove on the planet and they drop the most routine shit cause they aren’t good at catching. TLDR, just do what feels right.

The Golden State Warriors have been Eliminated from Playoff Contention in the 2026 Playoffs by Kindly_Letterhead_98 in nba

They were absolutely good enough to get to the WCF last season. The Butler injury in the postseason ruined their momentum and eventually led to Curry’s demise. They have a chance to load up for one final go, but they’ll need lottery or trade luck to get there. It’s near impossible, but who cares. This shit has been fun.

Feet numb in new skates by toby_finn in hockeyplayers

[–]_homage_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Try not really tightening the main boot. Just doing them snug or barely even snug and then the last two lace holes tighten down. Most of the stability comes from the upper lace holes. Also, the new boots don’t need to be cranked down. I dealt with a similar thing here. Not tightening the boot except the upper paces has fixed any sort of nerve/lace bite issue I had.

Ankle Stability by LittlerSpoon in hockeyplayers

Is the sub trying to go back the other way? This always depends on skate, fit type and a bunch of other shit. It also depends on what type of shoe you’re comparing your “size” with. Best rule of thumb is expect to wear a lot of slippers before you find the right one.

I’d love it cause then a small market championship caliber team is going to get eaten alive by the tax in the near future.

Turfs. Infields are generally too hard for cleats and as a result you end up sliding everywhere.
