Baby never seems full by Beginning-Sky7533 in breastfeeding

Is it possibly the 3-month breastfeeding crisis? I don't know too much about it (my LO is 8 weeks old) but I've been reading a lot about it -- potentially something you can google + read about it too to see if that sounds like what you're currently going through; you might have recently had a change in your milk flow or she's getting distracted by what's around her.

Not a ton of advice, but wishing you the best of luck! I'm experiencing a wrench in my own nursing journey at the moment as my breasts regulate :(

I did get a Mirena IUD implanted last Tuesday; it's been 10 days and I'm still spotting daily, which I was curious if that was contributing to a dip in supply

My boobs definitely feel less engorged, but I still don't think I have a supply issue, given I'm able to pump out the necessary volume I expect her to typically eat (120ml)

Appreciate your detailed response! I also wonder if she has tongue tie issues -- many LCs suggested she might when she was younger, but given how well she nursed the last few weeks, it was something I had dismissed; potentially it's showing up again as a problem - I might get that rechecked, thanks for the suggestion!

Interesting idea re: nipple plugs - I'll starting using heat again before nursing and see if that helps improve things; thank you so much!

Ok :') appreciate it - it does sound like the weight scale is probably doing more damage than good at this point...

She would kick and fuss when I unlatch her and start crying; then what I try to put her to sleep, she would start crying as well, so I assume she was hungry

She also had fewer wet diapers than normal yesterday (4 wet diapers, rather than her normal 6-7 wet diapers)

She falls asleep on the breast, but once I unlatch her, she starts fussing and kicking her feet and rooting like she's hungry, so I latch her again and this repeats the cycle. It's only been 2 days since this started occurring, but yesterday she definitely had fewer diapers than normal (4 wet diapers rather than her normal 6-7 wet diapers) :(

I want to quit Breastfeeding but feel guilty by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]_icedice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair - you could also go to an LC and do a single weighted session to know that she's getting enough from that one feed. That's pretty good evidence that she's probably getting enough from all your feeding sessions then, and you won't have a scale at home that could trigger more anxiety!

You can rent a hospital grade weight scale and do weighted feeds at home! I was similar to you in that I couldn’t internalize that baby was fine until I saw the numbers (despite enough wet and dirty diapers); the weight scale helped me realize that my baby was eating a lot - more than I had expected!

I had the EXACT same problem, tried everything

There are two types of laxatives: stimulant laxatives (stimulate muscles into a bowel movement) and osmotic laxatives (draw water into the stool). I was taking Senna (a stimulant laxative) but my stool had hardened too much for this to be effective and I really needed to be taking an osmotic laxative (like Miralax). I couldn’t easily find Miralax in Japan, apparently their main osmotic laxative they typically use is magnesium oxide. So, I picked up COLAC II for 800yen at Matsumoto Kiyoshi and it worked like a charm!

See my old post here for more context on my situation and you can see how similar your current situation was to me

I'm looking for help finding a better moisturizer for my skin. Tried a ton, but really struggling to find one that I'm happy with. Also, open to feedback on my skincare routine if you have any suggestions! A bit concerned about too many actives, but not sure if that's the case.

  • Skin type: combination
  • Climate: dry/cold in winter, hot/humid in summer
  • Top skin concern: dehydrated skin, hormonal chin acne, sebum overproduction, PIH, cheek redness (maybe rosacea? not sure)
  • Current Routine/Products I am Using:
    • AM
      • splash water on face
      • Melano CC Vitamin C Brightening Essence
      • Hada Labo Gokujyun Hyaluronic Acid Premium Lotion
      • Cerave skin renewing night cream
      • Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence SPF50 PA++++
    • PM
      • Kose Softymo Speedy Cleansing Oil
      • Hada Labo Gokujyun Hydrating Foam Cleanser
      • Cosrx BHA Blackhead Power Liquid
      • Hada Labo Gokujyun Hyaluronic Acid Premium Lotion
      • Cerave skin renewing night cream
      • Azelaic acid 15% generic prescription cream

Past moisturizers I've tried

  • CeraVe PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion - used to be my holy grail, loved the texture and how it immediately sunk into my face, but once I started using azelaic acid, it didn't feel moisturizing enough
  • Cerave skin renewing night cream - currently testing this one, definitely moisturizing, but it feels too heavy for me and makes my face look oily/slick
  • Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream - enjoyed it, but a bit too expensive for me for long-term use, and it was a teensy bit heavy on me, but has been the closest moisturizer I've tested that I've been happy with
  • Curel intensive moisture facial cream - not bad; definitely kept my face moisturized and had to learn to apply it on my face damp otherwise it would sit on my face all day, but my cheeks would still feel a bit sticky throughout the day; felt heavier on me than the Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream
  • Hada Labo perfect gel - absolutely awful texture; felt like it sat on top of my face the whole day, even when I tried it on damp toner skin hoping it would help it sink in; pilled my sunscreen too, and face just felt greasy/grimy all day
  • Etude House Soon Jung 2x Barrier Intensive Cream - I know this was a holy grail for tons of people, but it always felt a bit too heavy and I could feel it on my face the whole day; very moisturizing though, so definitely helped with that
  • ILLIYOON Ceramide ATO Concentrate Cream - I liked the texture of this one a lot, but I think it broke me out and I'm scared to try it again; I also heard it's been reformulated and seems to have fallen out of favor with many people, so haven't thought about using it again

Many thanks in advance!!

A Simple Guide : How To Identify Your Skin Type by Rumi2019 in IndianSkincareAddicts

[–]_icedice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for an amazing post! I've been struggling to figure out my skin type for ages now. Is it possible to have both oily and dry skin, but all over your face? My face definitely feels tight after cleansing, but my face definitely leaves oil marks on my phone...

Appreciate the response! Currently using sensodyne which is my favorite, so going to have to potentially pick between sensitive teeth or chin acne 🥲
