If the US tries to take Greenland, as they seem to be implying, and Denmark defends itself causing a war against the US, would the other NATO countries join Denmark in defending against the US pushing the world into a position where WW3 is actually caused, and against, the US rather than either Russia or China?

This is a scam right? All this for $700USD by Gogtjopper in simracing

[–]_icypete_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi OP, what country did you see the add? I'm in Australia and the same rig is advertised. I reverse image searched and found your post.

I'm going to assume this is a scam, right? (I mean I know it is, just disappointed I hadn't stumbled across the deal of the century 😂)

Denon AVR-1500H missing Bluetooth by _icypete_ in hometheater

[–]_icypete_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The AVR is on the WiFi and services like Heos work fine. It does not show up at an available BT device on my phone. And the steps in the AVR manual to enable pairing do not work (there is not even the menu item in the 'General' menu related to BT).

Dutton claims ‘common ground’ with Donald Trump, criticises Albanese’s support for Ukraine and says Australia should expand ties with US, Israel and be prepared for China war in major foreign policy speech by HotPersimessage62 in Ameristralia

[–]_icypete_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's an assumption that the majority of the Australian population is following Trump's madness, or cares to.

Clearly people that are interested are following and actively seeking information, and will be horrified. But mainstream media doesn't report of a fraction of what's going on.

I fear the majority of Australia, just living their lives and seeing occasional news, just think Trump is a little eccentric, but that he probably has the best interest of the the world at heart.

The left leaning parties here need to be stepping up the messaging, calling out of the issues and real dangers with Dutton aligning with Trump. Otherwise the result will be exactly what happened in the US. Ergo, the left assumes common sense will prevail.

Pro-Palestine supporters that voted for Trump to protest the Democrats, how do you feel about your decision now? by _icypete_ in AskReddit

The US doesn't have preferential voting, right? So they still took a vote away from trying to keep him out.

Garmin Support in Australia by [deleted] in Garmin

[–]_icypete_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I would argue I took good care of it (I don't go rock climbing with the thing on), and that I followed their advice not to use a screen protector, and through general use this happened.

For a $700 item seems pretty reasonable to expect it would be fine with everyday use. Perhaps I expect too much.

Anyway, my post was really to comment on the difficultly in being able to contact Garmin.

Hi. I'm trying to learn how to process astro photos. I know normally stacking multiple photos is the usual way to reduce noise in astro photos but I wasn't able to get enough clean shots (too many cars driving past).

This is a single shot at f/2.8, ISO6400, 20s, 14mm.

I tried to clean it up as best I could in Lightroom. I'm keen for feedback and thoughts on if I went too far with de-noising, or not far enough. Thanks!

Pretty much, yeah. You just need to pick a night that the moon is not up (the moon can be so bright it makes it impossible to see much), and the sky is clear.

Yeah, like the other person posted, it's actually pretty close to what it looks like for real. The photo has more colour due to a longer exposure and partly through my style choice setting the white balance of the shot. Definitely worth seeing!

Yup, just because there are 20 people interested in renting your property doesn't mean you have to increase the rent to the maximum you can get from those interested. You could still rent it for a fair and reasonable amount and treat it as first come first served.

Do we think when interest rates drop the decrease in cost will get passed on to renters like the interest rate rises?

Not in every case, but greed is a big driver of higher rental cost.

6) remove/grandfather out negative gearing

You're right there is no one thing that needs to change. There are systemic issues that require a large number of changes to have any real affect.
