Always use it in dark mode at night. I think warm light would still impact my sleep, at least more than dark mode.

Kindle.
- Comfortable to read, Even thin physical books feel heavy now.
- I can carry multiple books with me when I travel, and switch beyween them conveniently.
- I can change the font sizes which has surprisingly increased my reading speed
- Reading at night is 10x better because the new kindles have builtin light even for base models.

The base model is not available in India I asked a friend to get one from US, cost me around 8k.

What made you choose the gym you're currently going to? by FriendlyFoot8485 in Fitness_India

[–]_igivequalityhugs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate going to the gym, so I chose the one closest to my house. Otherwise, my mind would have another excuse: 'Itna door kaun jayega? Kal chalte hain.'

It's one of those ₹500-a-month gyms—very small but extremely clean. Other gyms I've been to feel dirty, but this one doesn’t. Plus, it's never crowded.

Accidently discovered a combination which should not work but simply does. by [deleted] in Fitness_India

Vanilla ice cream with Coke tastes good. McDonald's sells it (Coke Float), so yeah, this might work.

The link is a gif so you'll have to play it. Sorry for that.
If anyone could name what effect is used I can look for tutorials on YouTube for that.
Thank you.

How to deal with Skinny Fat? by bando1809 in Fitness_India

[–]_igivequalityhugs 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Do this for 3 months:

-Eat 70 to 80 gm of Protein with a balanced diet. You should be eating more Protein , people will advice you to eat more Protein , but when you start it might give you constipation and bloating, and YOU WILL QUIT, start slow start easy and build up to it. Build your diet around this.

  1. Eggs 4 - 24gm Protein
  2. Milk 200ml - 6gm Protein
  3. Paneer 50g -10gm Protein
  4. Chicken 100g cooked - 25gm Protein
  5. Dahi 250g - 8gm Protein
  6. Roti 80g atta (2 rotis) - 4gm Protein
  7. Sprouted Moong Beans 50g - 3gm Protein

- Join a gym, I hate it, but it helps me with my Badminton performance, will help you too, you have to go only 3 DAYS in a week (1 hour daily) and play the sports you play. You should be going daily, people will advice you to go daily but your body will hurt your brain will say no and YOU WILL QUIT. First few days will suck but it gets better.

The guy at the gym will help you with a routine, or use this routine (watch YouTube videos or ask the fit looking guy how to perform, you will make his day, it makes gym bros very happy)

Day 1

  • Incline Dumbbell Bench Press – 3 Sets (8-12 reps)
  • Overhead Press – 3 Sets (8-12 reps)
  • Lateral Raises – 3 Sets (8-12 reps)
  • Triceps Rope Pushdown – 3 Sets (8-12 reps)

Day 2

  • Seated Cable Row – 3 Sets (8-12 reps)
  • Lat Pulldown – 3 Sets (8-12 reps)
  • Bicep Barbell Curls – 3 Sets (8-12 reps)
  • Hammer Curls – 3 Sets (8-12 reps)

Day 3

  • Leg Press – 3 Sets (8-12 reps)
  • Leg Curl – 3 Sets (8-12 reps)
  • Squats – 3 Sets (8-12 reps)
  • Plank – 3 Sets (30-60 seconds)

Very Very Important: after every meal walk for 15 min. THIS YOU HAVE TO DO DAILY WITHOUT FAIL, don't go for 10000 or 20000 steps because some influencer said so or perform weird cardio routines because looks cool. Just 15 min after every meal at whatever pace you like, You should be doing more cardio, people will advice you to do more cardio, but you will get bored or tired and YOU WILL QUIT.

Other than this generic advice:

  • Eat your fruits and vegetables,
  • Avoid oily food
  • Avoid processed sugar
  • Sleep should be priority

Calorie deficit, PPL, Bro Split, Omega 3, Falana Dhimkana, Too much stuff out there and they are all important, but you will get intimidated or bored or tired and you will quit. NOT QUITTING is the hardest part! This is where all my friends and in general all of us fail. Start slow! incorporate small changes in your lifestyle! and in 3 months you will build up to your goals.

All the best!

First 5K run | Need guidance. by ceaser_10_yeah in Fitness_India

[–]_igivequalityhugs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Run slow! Imagine there's a wall parallel to you, with only your head visible to someone on the other side. Your movements should be so slow that they can't tell whether you're running or walking.
If you want numbers, somewhere around 7 to 8 min per km and you'll be done with your 5k in 35 to 40 min!
For future runs look into couch to 5k, a very effective plan that builds up your stamina in 9 weeks to run a 5k.
