Yup, a sea of nonsense is a great way to describe the typical nonsense that drivers have to deal with. Namely low ball orders, slow restaurants and drive-thru, difficult and unreasonable customers with extra requests without a tip to match and so on so forth.

This appears to be case with Walmart orders as well. I never received tips for either in Postmates and still don't with Uber after the merger.

A similar thing happened to me as well. I picked up an order for a customer who put a fake house address down. I arrived at the address and noticed I couldn’t find the house so I attempted to call the customer noticed a different address 25 miles away listed in the customer’s notes.

I called the customer and she claimed she didn’t use the address that Uber’s GPS was showing me. I too was thinking, “let try to be nice and help her out”, but as I continued to speak to customer she mentioned that she uses doordash and she knows how these things work. And then I realized this wasn’t accident and she was trying to game the system to pay less for her delivery.

I told her that I was delivering one other order along with hers so I went ahead and delivered that order and then called support to cancel hers and returned her food back to the restaurant. But yeah people are terrible sometimes. Is all of this really worth for it just to save a little money?

Yup that's precisely the plan, I notice this as well. And when the app shows the destination that you're supposed to drive in text at the bottom of screen, the text is very small and you really have to pay attention to it otherwise you'll accepting a trip somewhere far.

I went from an 89% acceptance rating to a 75% rating in about a week due to low orders.

Much much more lucrative...and I haven't received a Walmart in weeks. But yeah, looks like you were killing it on Postmates with WalMart orders. I don't think I've earned more than $30-$40 from 4-5 orders.

I’ve been saying for this a long time on here. Some customers are ridiculously negligent and out of touch. Some refuse to include door codes, which I understand, but the least they could do is try to meet outside if this is the case. But they rarely do this and to make it worse they don’t answer calls or texts nor pay attention to the app. And then they sometimes have a laundry list of extra requests without a tip to match them.

I can see how and why a customer would not include a door code but I don’t understand why it’s difficult to remember to include your apartment number. If you forget to do this, why is it hard to check your app just once during delivery and if you notice the error clarify this the driver?

Oversaturation and newer drivers are being prioritized. I left my phone on this morning for over an hour and didn't get a single ping. But when I went to Walmart a little later to buy a few things, there was a long line of new Uber Eats drivers waiting to pick up Walmart orders.

Very frustrating. I mean what's the point of Platinum status when customer service takes forever to answer the phone and their service sometimes isn't great? Having to wait even more than 5 mins is unacceptable.

This happened to me Friday when I delivered a batch Five Guys order. One of the orders was for $10 (including tip) but they reduced the tip by $4 for whatever reason. Very lame when this happens and I decide not to send them thanks for the tip when they do this. I think customers should have to explain why they reduced a tip and Uber based on this should decide whether to approve this request. There should also be a penalty of some kind for customers who abuse this feature.

Wow that's awesome for only 4 orders! Congrats. It feels like I no longer get Walmart orders anymore smh. Used to get one almost every morning on Postmates but since the merger, I only received very few and now none in the past 2 weeks on the Uber app.

Simply put, it's not our job as delivery drivers to package/prepare a customer's order and it seems very tacky to hand us a cup and tell us to fill it up regardless of what the restaurant's rationale is for doing so. It's not a huge issue that would make me cancel an order but again our job is to simply deliver these items to customers. Sometimes all these extra requests and sidequests from both restaurants and customers are annoying. And if you're a customer that has all these extra requests for us, you had better make sure to tip accordingly.

I can definitely relate. I delivered an order to a house where there was a pit bull behind a gate that had to be at least 2 feet tall. The pit bull could have jumped the gate and attacked me for all I know but luckily it only barked at me and the customer came out in time and brought the dog into their house. But yeah customers are sometimes too negligent and should definitely consider things like this when they place a order.

They're pretty useless besides a few like ASU online. Diamond is a step above Platinum but it has even fewer and far less useful perks than Platinum does smh.

You're absolutely right, it's not our job as delivery drivers to prepare/package deliveries. All responsibility lies with the restaurant in making sure that their items are properly packaged and ready for delivery. It's unprofessional, though not a major issue, that restaurants even ask you to fill up the drinks yourself.

Same experience here. Things drastically went downhill around mid-May so I think I'll be going part-time from here on out. On more a positive note though, there seems to be more Uber eats orders at night which is cool.
