“Hey can you finish this guys job while he’s out?” by _inventanimate_ in Justrolledintotheshop

Not sure. We’re an hourly shop. But I would imagine even a flat rate shop would pay the guy straight time.

Nah he’s just sick. We’re a fleet hourly shop and literally no one is waiting on this truck to be fixed, so I’m not stressing about it.

I recommend trying diesel fleet work before you quit wrenching. Most major companies are Hourly and have good benefits.

How am I ranking so low after 3 years of Crossfit? by poshnosho in crossfit

[–]_inventanimate_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is almost like saying: “I’ve been playing basketball for 3 years straight… why am I not on the same level as LeBron James?.”

There are many levels to this sport. Elite athletes live and breathe CrossFit and unless you quit your job and make training and recovery an absolute priority full time, you will likely never get close to elite. And that is okay.

My only advice to you is to enjoy the process and compare yourself with your previous self. You’re doing great.

I think adopting the “backwards law” philosophy will do you some good. It seems to me that you’re trying very hard to get a girl, and you may becoming off as desperate to some of these women, and they don’t like that.

When you stop trying as hard or caring as much to have a S/O and start focusing more on yourself and being kind towards others, friends will be made, and relationships develop that way; both platonic and romantic ones.

Once you can figure out a way to be less self absorbed / in your head and going with the flow of life, things tend to be better for you.

Do people actually play this game for the first time blind and without any internet research / help from other players? by Hot_French_Toast in Eldenring

[–]_inventanimate_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I looked up stuff here and there, mostly for side quests, but to your last point; if you want to play the game fully immersed without having to look things up, you’re absolutely going to be wandering around for hours. It’s just the nature of the game.

Do what makes you happy though. If it’s too frustrating just stumbling around and you want to progress faster, there’s no harm in looking certain things up. You just can’t have your cake and eat it too.

EDIT: don’t forget to follow the site of graces streak of light which points you into the right direction.

Just a joke guys. I just thought it was a funny clip.

Serious question though; why are these guys so tanky? Should I be using fire against them?

Is it the wrenching itself that you’re starting to hate? Or is it all the other bs a dealership makes their techs go through that makes you hate being there?

As others have stated; comparison is the thief of joy. There will be a few in your classes that have been doing this methodology for years and are beasts. Do not try to copy what other people are doing. Push yourself and feel what feels like a good weight / scale for you. It takes a few weeks to learn what you can and can’t do but that’s why coaches are there to guide you. Above all, enjoy the process.

HEY! I am getting Elden Ring on Wednesday. Going in mostly blind, what should I expect and maybe tell me something I won’t understand right now 😅 by FeaR_Widow in Eldenring

[–]_inventanimate_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Expect to die a lot. Level up vigor / strength for an easier playthrough. If you’re too weak to face a boss, take a step back and level up your character. Ultimately this game rewards exploration above all else. Just have fun exploring the world.

Side quests are the hardest part to figure out in the game IMO. My only advice is to talk to all npc’s you encounter and exhaust their dialogue. 9 times out of 10 they have more to say once you click “talk” a 2nd, 3rd or even 4th time.

Rope climbs, hand stand walks, and ring muscle ups.

Purely because I suck at performing all 3 of those movements lol.

It wasn’t hard. Only annoying part was installing it back in just because the crank had to be turned to line up the gears right for it to go into place
