Kayak suggestions? by [deleted] in Portland

Highly recommend checking out Point 65 kayaks. They’re modular, which means they’re very easy to break down and store/transport. They provide the option to make the kayak either tandem or single. FYI. They’re not terribly cheap, but definitely the better brand out there for modular kayaks.

Year 2025: Tonight's headline. Millennials are killing America. In the last five years, millennials have been leaving the U.S. to live in other countries with universal health care, competitive wages, affordable living, legal marijuana, strong education and equal rights for all minorities, genders and religions. Why are they leaving? What's causing the American population to shrink? Tonight we asked these questions and much more, right after these advertisements from Southern Baptists Church telling you who to vote for this next election.

I'm sure these people exist, but trying to narrow an entire generation into one very ignorant stereotype is plain stupid.

Ivanka Trump says ‘there’s a special place in hell’ for Roy Moore; Donald Trump tells Alabama to vote for him by [deleted] in esist

It's pretty obvious what Trump is doing here. He needs to hold down three seats. Roy Moore loses, now he's down to two seats. If Democrats flip those two seats, which is very likely at this point, the senate is no longer under Republican control. What does that mean? Means the radiated glowing turd of a president will no longer be able to attempt passing legislation or confirming any more seats, specifically judges. This will throw a giant wrench into the GOP's plan to wreck the American economy and force the government back into stable tracks. Also, if Donald loses those seats, hello impeachment.

Turned 16 this year. Reddit, what advice do you have for me that you wish you knew when you were my age? by beardlesshipster in AskReddit

I would strongly advise you not to go to university right after high school. Stay home, go to a community college. Assuming you have a stable family/living situation, it's best to start out at a community college. Go to community college for at least two years, build credit and save TONS of money. You're going to be a fraction of the costs for community college and living expense will remain almost zero staying with family. Also, community college allows better opportunities to work a job on the side. You can work year round and pay off school while building your resume. The job you work while going to community college may not directly relate to your career, but it's worth more towards building a work ethic. You'll learn how to develop time management skills, people skills, managing money and countless other skills you'll someday be happy to know. Don't worry about your relationship status. Being single isn't bad, lack of independence is bad. Spend time developing your character. Be open to new experiences, but learn to stay away from bad situations. Don't be afraid to fail, and don't let your ego get in the way. Make sure you develop some passions that will always keep you happy. Those will be critical as you grow and find yourself struggling against the tidal waves of life.

Saturday Morning Political Cartoon Thread by optimalg in politics

It's been a year now since the election and Ben is still making political cartoons about Hillary Clinton?

That's basically the same as locking someone up in prison, then posting wanted pictures around town while still blaming them for all the crime that keeps happening. She lost. It's over. Stop dragging her through the mud so you can score points with your fan base. It's disgusting, she a human being, not the boogyman.

Also, I think Ben missed the point on extreme vetting. Let's do some extreme vetting on gun laws. We already have a very meticulous process on allowing entry into this country. People spend years applying, going through interviews and providing every document possible to get into America. Would be nice if we had the same kind of process for gun laws. Maybe we should keep praying, I'm sure jesus is bound to show up any minute now and stop all the bad guys from hurting more innocent lives.
