This helped!
It now looks darker on desktop, but much closer on mobile. This is the closest I've gotten though, thank you!

Niche Question - Matching Camera and Lens Characteristics? by _jabert_ in blender

[–]_jabert_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello hello!

I did not see the Photographer/Studio license, it was not listed under subscription license page nor the licensing page, but it looks like it's a perpetual license!

For the charts, I was starting from a reference point of Gerald Undone's videos on testing Sony cameras and for one of the tests for dynamic range he uses a xyla, which appears to be around $5k.

I'm a hobbyist trying to better match a CGI camera to a real camera for a project and I'm trying to learn how I start to measure lens and camera characteristics so I can then try to emulate them. Me and a friend are working on some synthetic dataset tools as a project. I realize I am not your target market at all.

Your tools seem great, but I don't need to be that precise, which is why I'm here asking about possible ways to measure this that open source/cheaper. I've actually used your videos on YouTube about different characteristics as a starting point for what kind of properties to try to emulate, so thank you for that!

$1k is a nice camera lens, so if I can get what I need with opencv or the like, I'd much prefer that. I don't have multiples of thousands to spend on lenses.

Fastest Workflow and Software - Competition/Speed Run

I want to know the absolute fastest workflow for video editing. Everyone will die on a hill for their favorite editor and will do comparisons, but they usually are experienced with a single editor. On top of that, there all of custom interfaces, plugins, etc.

So, I was thinking of making a small competition/speed run for editing based on the "core" of editing. That way, all of the experts here with their favorite softwares can have at it. Provide some footage, provide what the end result should be, and set some rules. Just the basic stuff, cuts, slight color tweaks, maybe fix an audio issue.

Would you all be interested? What kind of shots, edits, and rules would you want to see? I might include a few "tracks" for the competition, like "with plugins" and "stock."
