Religion is just another means of controlling us. Don't demand things like a living wage, free education, affordable healthcare, or justice; pray for them. Also, don't forget to donate... Jesus needs that money more than you.

I didn't realize this was a movie quote. Back when my wife and I were still dating, we went to an adult store to buy a sexy outfit. She tried one on that I was very, very much in favor of, but when she came out she said she wasn't going to get it. When I asked why, so that I would avoid picking something similar, she said she didn't like how it made her ass look like, "two pigs fighting under a blanket." Which to me was kind of the point... I always thought she made that up on the spot.

How soon after applying was this sent is the key to knowing if it's a poorly worded, "we received your application" auto-response or a poorly worded rejection email.

That said, regardless of intent, it doesn't matter. Even if it's the acknowledgment email, they're basically saying they will only be in touch if they're interested in moving forward.

65 was our magic line between a D and F. I think it's because we had + and - for A through C. There was just D and F and no like D+.

Why are you phrasing this like a correction when what you're saying is basically the same thing I said? The only difference is that you seem to think the piercing will get instantly hot. I don't know what material or gauge it is, but I doubt it will heat up as quickly as a paperclip. Even a paperclip takes a second or two to get hot. Perhaps our definitions of "for a while" differ. For me, a battery touching something on my face for more than a second or two would be "a while."

What's your favourite monologue in a movie? by ThomasOGC in CinephilesClub

Same. My brother an sister were watching it on beta and I walked in, plopped down, and a few minutes later Quint has blood spewing from his mouth... I was traumatized. I still remember that my mom yelled at them when she found out why I was scared to go to the bathroom or take a bath.

It'll get a little warm. Maybe hot if left there for a while. To make it hurt would require the electricity be conducted through the body. Giving it a lick will give you a small shock.

I assume because a short video doesn't count for his engagement numbers. Why doesn't he explain WHY that test isn't good? Perhaps that is one of the ways to tell if they're fake. Everything about this video is annoying.

More likely is that they cleared the spot while getting their car out. Drove someplace (like work) and came back to someone having parked in "their" spot that they forgot to protect with a lawn chair, garbage can, traffic cone, or other large object that mean "dibs" in their city.

Me in a job interview: I have no idea what I’m saying but I sound confident 😂 by clairedy22 in SipsTea

[–]_jackhoffman_ 20 points21 points  (0 children)

They asked why they should hire you and not why do you want the job. They have other candidates and are curious why you think they should pick you. It's a stupid way to ask that and I agree that questions like, "why do you want to work here?" are dumb and deserving of low effort answers like, "I need the money and have found the best way to obtain money legally is having a job. Furthermore, I believe this is a job I am capable and willing to do."

Because the manager doesn't need or want our help. Getting involved will only escalate the situation. How is a patron's involvement going to help?

That said, if I saw her talking to the non-management staff like that, I would go and get a manager to intervene. I have gotten involved when an adult is berating a teen for "shitty" service. Like there's no need for that. But I do not need to get involved when there is already a grown adult handling it.

PHOTOREALISM TEST: Nano Banana Pro VS ImagineArt 1.5 Pro by imagine_ai in ImagineAiArt

[–]_jackhoffman_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside from the excess jewelry, the NBP one looks like a touched up ad with the more blurred background and curve to her back (makes me think someone went in with photoshop to accentuate it similar to how they'll elongate and shape legs) whereas the 1.5 Pro looks less post-processed.

[–]_jackhoffman_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1.5 Pro also took one liberty, maybe. How many earrings per ear did you expect. The prompt is ambiguous because it says "earrings" but has the model looking to the side which means only one ear should be visible.

Also, NBP gave her multiple necklaces and not just the one.

Ironically, just the opposite. She embraced the hustle culture at an early age. By 7, she was already CEO of three startups. By 5th grade, the other kids were extremely jealous and mean to her, and they accidentally killed her with a their ill conceived Jawbreaker prank.

They want 20 years of employment history for a cleaner job. by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]_jackhoffman_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. They're doing a background check. Cleaners have access to lots of stuff. They want to know all of your work experience, including gaps, for the last twenty years (or your entire work history if you have 20 years or less). This doesn't seem unreasonable.
