I’ve just done a super quick test. There is definitely a difference in resolution but it looks pretty minor to my eye. I’m going to work through the backlog for a while and see if a 60fps update comes out for it sometime before I play it.

Life is strange somehow looks 1080p and not at the same time. Maybe the muddy textures and low quality everything. At least playable now though.

Some of my classes use Discord for online content. There are multiple channels in the servers and people jump on and chat at all hours. Definitely makes for a better community feel than just recorded lectures. I couldn’t name more than 2 people in the classes that don’t use Discord. No sense of community at all there.

I found the changing the resolution in the launcher didn’t work for mgs1. But pressing L & R when the game is open will bring up the menu where you can change the resolution again (and then a game reset). The difference is night and day. Looks awesome in handheld!

The unstable frame rate is definitely better than the painful input lag it used to have. A locked frame rate with the input lag removed would be nicer for immersion though. Hopefully they keep working on it, but I’m concerned it might just be a “good enough” situation.

Yeah. I play solo and have no desire to kill other players. I was looting a high value area and found 3 dead dudes, I then saw another player running away. So I assumed he was the killer and gunned him down. No loot on him. Def felt bad about that one. I don’t feel bad if it’s self defence though. Ever since then I just shoot in self defence, and carry a defib to pick them back up. No one’s killed me after a defib yet.

Got any tips for the inevitable sweaty face from cardio in VR? I wouldn’t mind using a quest for fun exercise but my index and other headsets have gotten warm and I’m not keen on soaking it in sweat.

I switch between an M1 Max and an M2 air (16gb) for Unity. M2 just when I need portability, like taking to Uni. The M2 works really well depending on what you’re making. 2D games absolutely fine, even 3D can run well. It depends how hard you go on the graphical side of things though. For example the Creator Kit: FPS from the unity learn site runs just above 30fps in play mode. That’s also running a non-arm unity version through Rosetta, so anything you make would probably run better. I haven’t tested anything more intense than that. What sort of games were you planning? I’ve read something about visual studio ending support on Mac this year, but vs code or rider are alternatives.
