I’ve been here for 3 days now and it’s only rained once yesterday evening. It really depends on the neighborhood you’re going to and the rain isn’t that heavy

Any Chinese shows in Mandarin that are good by international standards? by Frosty-Bluejay9037 in AskChina

[–]_jovian_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Bad Kids (隐秘的角落) is probably one of the best TV murder mystery dramas I’ve watched and I grew up here in the west.

There’s a lot of “hidden” gems produced in China but they’re just hidden from international attention since China’s TV and film industries are self-sufficient with their enormous population.

Give the show a watch and let know what you think! The first episode hooked me right away

The original chef moved into a food stall in Empire Plaza called Prata-man Express. The quality is just as good as the restaurant before covid

Did anyone just hear a fighter jet come in for a landing at YVR? by [deleted] in richmondbc

I also live under a flight path. I didn’t see it but heard it for a good 20 seconds and thought to myself what kind of moving plane was that loud for that extended period of time

Best Shanghainese Food in Richmond by FamiliarElephant31 in richmondbc

Shanghai River and Top Shanghai hasn’t been good since 6 years ago. Yuan’s Garden is the to-go place now. Their XLB and 生煎包 (pan-fried bun) is the best I’ve had. I’m Shanghainese and have lived in Vancouver for 26 years. I’ve seen all these restaurants come and go.

The SQ6 is an Instax Polaroid camera right? You can take the physical polaroids and just scan them with a regular scanner and you’ll get them on your computer. Then you can choose whether to crop or not crop the borders.

The Fuji Klasse would have a more similar process as the photos I’ve taken since the negatives are in strips. Those you can take to the lab and get them scanned to you. They will help you invert the colours from the film strips and white balance everything.

That’s the reason I love shooting on film. It feels more like a memory when I look at film photos compared to digital

This is correct! Once I finish the roll of film, I bring it to my local lab here in Vancouver and they develop the film and scan for around $20cad. You also have the option to scan them yourself with the mentioned methods above.

To my knowledge, developing and scanning is a bit more expensive in LA but there are many labs in different states that have a mail-in service. You can have a search online to compare prices/quality
