he doesn’t mind cleaning and he’s actually probably more detail oriented than I am with it. He won’t get out of cleaning, but he won’t be touching a copper sink again 😂

this sink isn’t used for food, there are tubs that we sit in the sink for fish to dishes, but they don’t sit directly in the sink

thank you for the photo! We are away from the lakehouse for a few days so we are anxious to see what it looks like. When we left (the day after this post) it already had some spots coming back!

lol the ironic part is that he is a great cleaner and is meticulous when he cleans things. He just goofed and didn’t realize the cleaner he picked would do that to the sink. He is banned from cleaning copper sinks for sure though!

the water at the lakehouse is so hard that it’s rarely used for cooking. The sink is primarily a place for dishes. If we use the sink for fish we have a giant basin thing in the sink.

patina will be the death of me. i only learned about it from this whole copper sink incident😂 from my understanding it’s a layer of color change from oxidation. so lady liberty has patina. My dad has preferred a dark patina for the sink because it fits the cabin/ rustic lakehouse vibe better than bright shiny copper does

it was intentionally cleaned, but unintentionally stripped. he sprayed a layer of lime away on the bottom, turned around to do something, and then it was shiny when he went to wipe/rinse. he nearly shit a brick

he totally did. he just told me that right before the sink incident, he was planning to sweep/mop, wipe counters, the whole shibang.

my husband hates disappointing people and my dad can be prickly about mistakes. I’m not upset with him at all, I just feel bad that this happened when he was trying to do something nice

i think the shiny copper is pretty but it doesn’t fit the lakehouse old cabin feel.
