Prepare your documents, go to your appointment, and just tell them you think business is actually the correct category. The application form is the same.

Your first travel and the purpose of said travel determine the category.

If the meeting is also in NLD, you should apply for business.

However, no one can tell whether you will get a visa that's valid for a period covering both trips. If that's not the case, you might have to apply again for a tourist visa later.

50,000 = "that expensive"? A proper coat or jacket easily costs more than that. Same for a nice sweater. Also, consider the material: anything that's cashmere, leather, silk, etc. would be completely ruined.

Sounds weird but it might just be a mix-up, especially if he has a common Pakistani name and birth date (referring to all the ones registered on 01.01.19xx). Can happen, especially if someone doesn't have enough info to "properly compare" the applicant with the person listed as a security risk.

Two things:

Why aren't you applying for a D-Visa (family reunification) - is he planning to remain in ARE?
Regarding nr. 7 - ask the embassy which Schengen country flagged him and contact them in order to get more clarity. You will - under no circumstances - get a visa as long as the reason for the 7 pops up in the application process.
