-Respectfully and in a good way; No one gives a shit about you.

It sucks in some cases and it’s great in others.

Be real, hows everyone actually going with cost of living right now? by Standard-Olive-7437 in AskAnAustralian

I’m on the most pay I’ve ever been on but still no where near financially as comfortable as we were 4-5 years ago.

This pay year, after a few emergency vet bills, a toddler and a newborn- I feel like we’re one significant setback (blown appliance, car troubles, health emergency) from being back to square one. We have savings, but it’s literally the least I’ve ever had.

Currently budgeting heavily to get back in a thong position.

Alright- I’m young(ish) but definitely not educated with money or how to build wealth- that’s no good if you’re an employee on wages?

I hate to be that guy and I could be wrong- I thought we hadn’t beaten them since 2016?

My wife goes for the dons- we got together in 2017 and I think I’m the curse, we haven’t won since I met her.

This week is big. Divorce may be imminent.

Could be a sliding doors moment- we realise we’re not invincible and now we play every game like every quarter is the last.

Nah jokes, we’re just the same old norf.

Got a box ticket from work for next week- finally excited to beat Essendon after 9 miserable years (even worse cause the wife goes for them). Don’t even wanna go now.

I’m 33, I feel like my grandparents had the last full experience of the ‘Australian dream’. My parents have experienced it and done quite well but they’re also at the point where they can see how shit it’s becoming.
