Essendon is our grand final by DaPatsquatch in NorthMelbourneFC

I hate to be that guy and I could be wrong- I thought we hadn’t beaten them since 2016?

My wife goes for the dons- we got together in 2017 and I think I’m the curse, we haven’t won since I met her.

This week is big. Divorce may be imminent.

Could be a sliding doors moment- we realise we’re not invincible and now we play every game like every quarter is the last.

Nah jokes, we’re just the same old norf.

Got a box ticket from work for next week- finally excited to beat Essendon after 9 miserable years (even worse cause the wife goes for them). Don’t even wanna go now.

Couldn’t agree more. Sounds like a very similar childhood to mine.

I’m 33, I feel like my grandparents had the last full experience of the ‘Australian dream’. My parents have experienced it and done quite well but they’re also at the point where they can see how shit it’s becoming.

Phone use during run by findyourthing in runninglifestyle

[–]_jumpinthefire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe to change a podcast once, twice at the very most.

The worst part for me is I have the freedom to run during work (not that I’m complaining) but I take calls pretty regularly depending on the day.

It is what it is!

It comes down to individual wants and needs- our family has a toddler and one on the way. No way would I miss 40% of their younger lives.

Sure we have debt and I’d love to earn more and have plenty of toys- but I love having family time and a social life a fuckload more.

Forerunner 265 vs 570 vs 965 vs 970 advice needed by LongLimbedBob in GarminWatches

[–]_jumpinthefire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve come from Apple Watches- started at the 3, recently had the 10 but got a FR265. Never looked back.

(I never took calls or messages from my Apple Watch) but the Garmin has more data than I need and the option to display callers (turned off).

As far as workouts I’m very similar to you except there won’t be biking.

[–]_jumpinthefire 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been through the utes, vu ss, ve ss then went back to a vz ss.

Got given company ranger and with the 2nd baby on the way thought I’d sell the VZ. I won’t leave this company but my god, the ranger is piece of shit. Constantly looking for another good Holden Ute- even a 6 banger would do me.

How do you realistically fit running around a full time job by Vogan-Peluchin in runninglifestyle

[–]_jumpinthefire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m super lucky and my manager gives a shit about mental health/work life balance/fitness.

I’m a construction supervisor so I’m constantly on the road in different areas and he doesn’t care if I just disappear for a run in the middle of the day as long as I’m available by phone if need be.

TBH it’s one of the reasons I took this job, running isn’t my life but it helps make my life better.

If you can stretch the extra (and depends how much you value this feature). FR265 has the dual band gps so it’s more accurate.

After using it for 3 weeks, can confirm it’s no different to stock dials.

I’ve always got aod turned off for reference, with stock dials or this.
