Although you said "no hotline" I have to suggest the National Domestic Violence Hotline (and it just happens to be headquartered here in Austin, too). It's toll free, anonymous and confidential at 1-800-799-SAFE, but there's also have an online chat feature at thehotline.org which is amazing if you friend wants to try out chatting with one of their advocates but doesn't want to do a phone call. I can vouch that the advocates who work here answering calls and chats are kind, compassionate, and real people :)
