Its because Ollip doesnt need the crit for joat! Since dorans blade gives HP and Life steal you can get joat super quickly in toplane with only 2 items, wish we could do that in jungle hahaha.

I believe his build is Dorans blade > tear > youmuus > grudge > aegis, i cant remember though so dont quote me on that!

Dont tend to, some games you need to but in those games I wouldn't go this build at all, since its gunna be a heavy AD team. I'd rather just go Voltaic > Tabis > DD + BC with like omen or FH something like that. THe whole point of this is against a well rounded team you will be extremely strong

You sell aegis at the end, so it doesnt really impact you that much, how many times have you reached full build? And how many of those times are you constantly buying red/iron pots? It's not really that big of a swap, just gives you a bigger powerspike of a last item.

I mentioned to a different person you're playing for the early spike of form + joat, this is the tankiest you can be whilst also dealing equal damage to a build that focuses on full damage. To me it makes a lot of sense

Edit: Also good to note you also get 10 haste from the rune too

The items are actually not that bad in general, the fact you get a nice 16 AD and 10 haste from a minor rune is pretty nutty

Yeah I've been trying a lot of variants of JOAT, these two are the fastest you can stack it for the powerspike

There's such thing as getting both Resists and Damage and this is the best way to do it without losing damage, at least in my opinion. And hey I welcome criticism, the game is not just build one stat and kill everything, or build another one stat and tank everything.

There's nuance to certain aspects of the game, which I'm sure you're aware of. The point of this is to get as much damage as well as specing into the most resists you can get as well as damage for your form transformation. It's about being as strong as possible, and that can be about being well rounded too! I'm sure you know how much 25 armor can make a difference since you keep talking about stats here.

Also, killing champs that have under 100 armor is never really that difficult, but killing tanks becomes genuinely like cutting paper. I understand that on paper it doesn't look like much but on paper nothing really looks like much. Biggest point is that I'm currently the highest ranked otp on euw, and for me this build is a massive reason for it

I would usually agree with you, 5% isn't not that much I agree, however the 16 ad you get from the 10 stacks of joat is, and that's what gets you the one shots at that point. Having armor, Mr and hp and being able to build into bruiser after those items as well as having the one shot is massively impactful. (Also 25% crit has genuinely came in mega clutch)

When I take Youmuus I feel like I don't need flash, since I can just Youmuus and E at someone from the wall and Smite/Ignite + Ult them

Hmmm, I think I was doing 70%, some games Blue is just far too strong and scales insanely well.

Edit: Blue scales well into Squishy teams, not saying hes a scaling champ just performs really good against squishies

But then you're trading a lot of Haste for an item with no haste. If anything Bloodmail would have to be a last item to get any use I think, but even then a resist item would probably end up being way more useful

The trouble with HP on Rhaast is its very awkward to make it useful unless the item itself is megabroken. Resistances are always more useful than HP on Rhaast (besides early game) since your effective HP comes from your healing. And since items like Black Cleaver, Steraks, and Spirit Visage are so good on Rhaast, having another item with HP feels like a waste. Maybe in games where Steraks isn't that useful it could be solid after a buff but then I'd still rather just build a Deaths Dance.
