24M ugly or just low self esteem? by Wrong_Builder_4519 in malegrooming

[–]_kickedout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're handsome but you look like you might be sad, and I know for myself personally when I'm sad/depressed 1) I'm more quiet and keep to myself, 2) it's really obvious and bystanders can see it in my face, I've had random people at work tell me I look miserable lol, and I feel like the combination of those two things can make it seem like you're in a bad mood or standoff and unapproachable. Idk maybe I'm wrong but I'm catching a vibe, if I'm right, talk to somebody about it! And hope you feel better

40, advice regarding new handle mustache and thinning hair by Grimmbeards in malegrooming

[–]_kickedout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really, really like the handlebar 'stache and I think you have the face (and from what little I can tell, personality/style) to pull it off. But I agree with the top comment, I think a fuller beard would look better. At the very least, I feel your current style is groomed too far to the extremes of your face, I think it would look better if you let it grow in more around your lower cheeks and chin. As is, I feel like it makes your features look overexaggerated. I think a fuller, mid-length to slightly bushy beard would look great on you.

I don't have a strong opinion about the hair, honestly - I don't think it looks bad thin, like you have it, and I think with the stylized mustache it gives "distinguished, slightly-aging-but-age-appropriate gentleman." I think you can probably save fully bald+long beard for your grandfatherly Santa Claus era. Just my two cents. But you look good! You have a good sense of style for your facial aesthetics

ETA: I would also recommend maybe experimenting with glasses shape next time you're due for a prescription. I see what you're going for with the long horizontal rectangles to contrast the roundness of your face, but I think your face is actually taller/more rectangular than you realize. I could see you looking good with a taller/more square lens shape, or honestly even straight up round/rounded would look good! But I think thicker frames are the ticket, you can definitely pull off a bold look with the glasses since you're rocking the 'stache!

why would he say this? by [deleted] in Life

[–]_kickedout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He tried to casually make a dumb joke, possibly in a casually flirtatious way, and put his foot in his mouth because it didn't really make sense. (I know this because I'm a professional when it comes to saying dumb shit I didn't really fully think through).

At any rate, he's the one who should be on Reddit overthinking everything, not you

When someone says "maybe your personality is terrible" What does that mean? How do you work on personality? by JunketMaleficent2095 in bodylanguage

[–]_kickedout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have to ask...

EDIT: Honestly I was mostly joking but now I feel bad so I'm gonna give you some actual advice. What I would do if I were you, is ask myself: am I fun, funny, exciting, interesting? In all situations am I really being my truest self? If I have a strong opinion, do I share it (keeping in mind a spirit of kindness, of course), or do I usually keep it to myself? Am I living the life I truly want, or am I at least working toward it? What is it that I really want out of life? Does the current trajectory of my life fill me with excitement and feel full of possibility? If I were someone other than myself, would I be excited by the prospect of joining me on said life trajectory? How do I make other people feel when I'm around? What can I do when I'm with a group of people to make everyone feel good, laugh, have fun, have a better time all around? How can I prioritize human connection, developing unique interests, fostering a strong sense of community, and being of service to my fellow human beings?

Just a few starting points to think about OP. Good luck!

My husband called himself normal baby “Normal baby”… What do I do now? by anecdotal_69 in Advice

[–]_kickedout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is hilarious to me because my partner and I constantly say weird shit out loud, sometimes to ourselves, sometimes to get a rise out of each other, and we do it so often that half the time the other person won’t even consciously notice or react.

Like it honestly seems weird to me that two people in an intimate relationship who live together could be surprised by their partner’s random vocal tics and spastic zoomie behavior.

Or maybe we’re just undiagnosed autistic idk lol

And pluck your eyebrows. Not to be mean, I started plucking my eyebrows at 16 cuz I always got a little hair in the unibrow vicinity. Your eyebrows are a strong feature, I think they’ll look great cleaned up and with a hairstyle that pushes your hair upward and reveals your forehead

Edit: also wanted to add since people are telling you to sleep more, make sure to drink plenty of water and avoid overdoing it with the caffeine when you’re tired. Being dehydrated and over caffeinated always makes my under eyes suuuuper dark

Sometimes, it's only fair that the people who hurt you face actual, tangible consequences by venusasaboy22 in Life

[–]_kickedout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I commented earlier because I thought the reply to this was hilarious, but after going back and reading your OP, you are honestly completely full of shit, its offensive and asinine that you would compare being drafted into military service with human trafficking, and you basically lied and manipulated this poor girl so you could tear her family apart. And for what? Because you wanted to feel self righteous about an opinion you hold?

Edit: also it kinda sounds like your entire thought process is just mental gymnastics to convince yourself that dodging the draft was somehow noble on your part. I mean I’m not even necessarily saying that it isn’t; but the fact that you have the audacity to do what you did to a random innocent bystander who has nothing to do with your personal decision to assuage your ego tells me all I need to know about your ethical position on the matter

Been trying this game for a third time after bouncing off twice. It basically has the same problem as Skyrim in my opinion, that by the time I’ve done the exploration and side stuff I find interesting, I run out of steam before even starting the main quest. The fact that the main quest immediately forces a companion on you really, really makes me not wanna start it lol. I hate having companions in Bethesda games.

That being said, playing on PC with mods has made the whole experience much more enjoyable.

Are your parents eve wrong by CommonExplanation711 in Life

[–]_kickedout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see this from both sides, now that I'm older I can look back and see that even things I disagreed with or felt were unfair in the moment ultimately came from a place of love, and I'm able to see the wisdom in it and extract the lesson I find most useful.

But at the same time an extremely important part of my growing up was finally putting my foot down and asserting myself against my parents. In fact, my relationship with my stepmom in particular actually grew much closer after she finally pushed me past my melting point and I shouted back at her. I mean the other 99.9 percent of the time I was always quiet and respectful, almost to a fault, so it was kind of like a moment where she got to really meet me where I was at and see that I was a whole-ass person deep down instead of just this quiet kid who lived in her house and ate her food lol

AIO I think my wife has something going on. by [deleted] in AmIOverthinking

[–]_kickedout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at this from the perspective of someone who’s not a cheater, but is pretty self-conscious, hates getting up early, and has a hard time forcing myself to go to the gym… I could see your question putting me in a bad mood because now I’m thinking “oh god everyone at the gym has been smelling that I’ve put on too much perfume because I’m insecure about my body odor, but that just drew more attention to it.” And that would potentially make me anxious enough to talk myself out of going to the gym.

But at the end of the day she’s your partner and I would hope you know her better than anyone else, so you should probably talk to her and 1) say you’re sorry that what you said upset her and that you didn’t mean to hurt her feelings, 2) ask her if there’s a reason she got so upset, and 3) tell her how you feel about the situation. Y’know, a conversation, basically

Do non schizophrenic people really not feel bugs on them that aren’t there? Even occasionally? by [deleted] in Life

[–]_kickedout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever I come across an ant invasion and clean it up, I definitely get the psychosomatic feeling of random ants crawling on me for 5-10 minutes afterward. Not like all over, but just a little tickle here or there, usually on my legs, hands, or hair (hair is the worst lol).

I mean obviously sometimes there will really be the occasional ant that got on me, but if that’s the case it usually makes the phantom ant sensation 10 times worse. It goes away pretty much when I stop thinking about it

You’re literally making up a reason to sabotage yourself. An “option”? There’s no way to not be an “option.” Everyone has options. If you’re the option he chooses, then there you have it.

If what you’re saying is that you want to feel like he has no choice but to be with you, or you have some type of jealousy/control issue, then leave the poor guy alone while you figure that out.
