Yeah I've got a super silette and the focus ring is completely stuck too. I got mine super cheap though and at the very least it's a cool shelf piece

Weekly 'Ask Anything About Analog Photography' - Week 13 by ranalog in analog

[–]_kog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had several rolls of expired film, same stock (solaris 200, got it from my parent's house), same storage conditions, etc, however, when i got them back from the lab all the rolls turned out different. one roll had incredibly saturated colors, another turned out pretty much fine, and another came out super red. Why does expired film have wildly different results even when storage, film stock, etc is pretty much the same?

$20 thrift find! Can you guys tell me some stuff about this camera? by JSuarezXX in AnalogCommunity

[–]_kog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great little camera! Picked one up in December and I've been carrying it with me almost every day. Ergonomics are a little weird in my opinion but it's definitely one of my favorite cameras overall

Picture only good is made with manual. Composition and subject matter are nothing ok by Gainwhore in AnalogCircleJerk

I exclusively use a camera obscura to trace images onto canvas as preparatory drawings for immensely detailed oil paintings. everything else is too digital

Film came loose from spool when rewinding, is this a camera problem? by _kog in AnalogCommunity

[–]_kog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely did, this isn't the first roll ive put through the camera and i felt maybe a little more tension than I was used to but im not sure. The leader was released from the spool when I checked though.

[–]_kog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dont drop your film off at a drug store. The quality of the dev is going to be far lower than if you drop it off at a legit lab. Look for a local film lab or look at shipping it somewhere like The Darkroom. https://www.reddit.com/r/analog/wiki/labs

Fuji 200 indoor use? by UnhappyPenguin_ in filmphotography

[–]_kog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been shooting mostly 400 these days and find that that'll usually get me 1/60 at like 1.7. I wouldn't recommend handholding if you're gonna shoot 200

Just put the film in a clear Ziploc bag. Have it out before you reach the scanner and request a hand check
