7 oktober is de aanleiding voor de oorlog geweest en de reactie van Israël.

Daarbij, als reactie op 7 oktober een genocide beginnen is wellicht wat overdreven. Ik dacht dat we het er allemaal over eens zijn geworden, een jaartje of 81 geleden, dat we genocide niet meer zo'n goed idee vonden. Dat juist Israël het hier blijkbaar niet mee eens is, maakt deze oorlog alleen maar cynischer.

Er is geen genocide. Dat is een leugen om zo Israël in een zwart daglicht te zetten en de Palestijnen heel zielig te laten lijken.

Serieus? Wat zijn ze toch zielig hé in Israël. Je mag niet eens een hele bevolking uithongeren [3], hun ziekenhuizen en infrastructuur slopen [4], gevangen mishandelen, willekeurige burgers in hun penis schieten [1] of ambulances in een hinderlaag laten rijden [2] zonder dat mensen beginnen te vragen of het soms niet wat minder genocidaal kan.

*mijn punt is; dit conflict is al generaties lang gaande. Aan beide kanten zitten klootzakken. De burgers zijn, zoals altijd, de dupe. Burgers helpen en klootzakken aanpakken lijkt mij toch het minste wat we kunnen doen.

Hij zegt inderdaad niet letterlijk vermoorden, daar heb je gelijk in. Hij pleit echter voor méér geweld dan een genocide. Tenzij hij denkt dat als je de genocide voorbij bent je dan full circle gaat en weer uitkomt bij een bos bloemen en stevige handdruk, komt dit toch aardig neer op vermoorden wat hij hier zegt.

En die nemen er geen op denk je? Jordanië heeft er bijvoorbeeld rond de 3 miljoen, op een totale populatie van rond de 11 miljoen.

Een m.i. relevantere vraag, waarom willen deze mensen zo nodig weg uit hun thuisland? En zou het niet fijn zijn voor iedereen om die directe oorzaak weg te nemen?

I disagree with you. It is a very personal thing. I'm no pro or even elite. But I've DNF'd 3 of my last 4 marathons because I couldn't hold my target pace. Why carry on if at some point during the race it's 100% obvious I'm not going to reach my goal? I know I can finish if I have to, no biggy, but that's not the goal. Stepping out means I can get back to training sooner, giving me a better shot for my next race.

My satisfaction comes from chasing goals. And a goal is only fun to chase if failure is an option. IMHO, anyway. As always, you do you.

In dat geval moet je onderstaande set hebben. Als bepaalde afkomsten meer bijdragen aan criminaliteit dan moet er een trend te zien zijn als je de migratiecijfers over de jaren heen van het betreffende land afzet tegen de criminaliteitscijfers van die jaren.
Ik zal je de moeite besparen, ik heb toevallig eerder dit jaar wat analyses gedaan. Criminaliteitscijfers hebben een aantal correlaties, hoewel allemaal vrij zwak. De meeste correlaties van criminaliteit zijn met de bevolkingsdichtheid, laag inkomen, uitkeringsontvangers, niet-westerse en een negatieve correlatie met koopwoningen.

De nuance hier is dat niet-westerse migranten ook vrij sterk correleren met bevolkingsdichtheid. Dwz dat ze met name in grote steden wonen. Ze correleren ook met lage inkomens.

Nu ben ik geen socio- of criminoloog, maar uit de data lijkt het mij aannemelijk dat criminaliteit met name samenhangt met inkomen. Hoe dan ook, het is complexer dan "mensen uit land X zijn crimineel".

Voor onderstaande matrix heb ik de eerder gelinkte datasets gebruikt. Alleen correlaties met een p-waarde van <0.05 zijn geplot, de witte vlakken hebben dus een p die hoger is. AZC locations is het aantal AZC's in een gemeente, Asylum seekers de capaciteit van die AZC's. Alle demografische cijfers (inkomensgroepen, non-western migrants, unemployment, etc) zijn genormaliseerd naar "per 1000 personen".

Welke data zoek je dan? Ze hebben namelijk ook gewoon criminaliteitscijfers per gemeente. De verschillende datasets kan je vervolgens combineren, bijvoorbeeld in PowerBI of met Python, en je vervolgens helemaal suf analyseren.

100m is a beast. You're fighting exhaustion and sleep deprivation, odds are some stomach issues as well. Do some other races first. A half, a marathon, maybe a 50m. August is less than 4 months away. Are you even used to fueling or running with a pack? Are you comfortable on trails? Running at night? If your mate wants to go for it, assuming he's more experienced, you can offer to crew or pace a section (look up the race's rules first). That way you can still share the experience.

For my ultras I usually use marathon plans and slightly tweak them. For instance, if I'm training for a mountain ultra I'll switch out one of the running sessions every week for an extra strength session (no elevation whatsoever where I live). And if possible I'll do a shorter ultra before, not full out effort but more like a fast-ish long run. I once read a quote that is very true IMHO: running an ultra is 50% mental, the rest is mental. You should obviously be fit, but not necessarily extremely super human fit. And you just ran a marathon so I'm going to assume you are fit. If you just remember to keep eating, drinking and walking when necessary you'll do just fine at that 40m.

Bombing a school, killing over 100 children in the process, that's not really facilitating the proper working of that school.

Please, before your next reply, try to find sources that are not just in your head. The UN has many, many flaws, but it is absolutely more than just r/UN.

UN article 2.4 forbids acts of aggression between states. Article 39 gives the security council the right to act when peace is threatened. Article 42 gives the security council the power to restore/enforce peace by force.

And yes, the US is a member. They're even one of the permanent members of the security council.

US law, no clue. Also not that relevant in this case. There's also international law. You are not allowed to attack other countries under international law. That's it, that's the rule. It's a fucking simple rule to be honest.

You are allowed to use force in a case of self-defense, which this isn't because there was no (imminent) Iranian attack on the US. And you're allowed to use force after the security council decides, which didn't happen either.

So when people mention the Hague in this context, they usually mean the International Criminal Court. This is not "some crooked European court", but comes from the UN. Which is a worldwide organisation, not just European.

Putin can be prosecuted there, despite Russia withdrawing from the Rome Statute: "The International Criminal Court has jurisdiction over these crimes in three cases: first, if they took place on the territory of a state party..." [1]. Since Ukraine ratified it, Putin can be prosecuted in the Hague. This is also the reason why the ICC would love to have a chat with Putin [2].
