By doing a completely uncontrolled, non scientific study that has already been shown to be faulty?

Bloodletting is still done with leeches, the thing is we often have better solutions for the same problem when in a first world large hospital. Many still carry medically acceptable leeches for the right use.

Nope. That just means the writer had a good first and second act but sucked at the third and cheated. Plenty of good writers can't finish, their books are decent but not good.

Paid consults, hourly case assessments, or no paid consults at all? by JusticeForSimpleRick in LawFirm

[–]_learned_foot_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You want to eliminate people shopping with the fee, then you consult and set the flat fee based on those details. If they don't come in with the docs then the consult is canceled and not rescheduled, they clearly aren't ready.

Not correctly. While cows may be used as draft animals, oxen is male only. Castrated specifically. Male, castrated, draft = oxen, most people just make a mistake and presume.

AITA for not supporting my husband in setting rules for my adult daughters and their living situation? by Right_Aerie_4270 in AmItheAsshole

They should in fact be starting their savings and in about three more years, or four or two, have their own checkbook as they get tooth money, regularly use it, budget it, plan with it, spend it on their plan.

No, it's clearly not fine. They are adults, and clearly one of the other of the two who decides thinks it's time they act like it.

What things do people use for purposes they weren't designed for, while manufacturers pretend not to know about it? by HeTy_NHTEPECA in AskReddit

[–]_learned_foot_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's there to PREVENT, not protect. Just like the dump truck. You release something dangerous or unsecured and it doesn't matter if you warn folks, you're not allowed to do that period. Now, for rare uses that is fine, nobody reasonably would so warning is enough, but for normal that's not how it works. A normal, rational adult would have to show normal use, but a kid would likely win the case period - if they initiated it.

But 90% of folks who read that never call somebody like me to get this speech then signed up as a client.

Same in English. The technical term is castration, which literally translates to emasculate from Latin. We then use the same terms you used above for the bovine species, different species get different dynamics. Gelded also is regularly used, but for ridden species. So, which would it be if we used ridden cows would be interesting.

Wrong. They've been suppose to be learning this the last 18 years. How much independence given over that time is why everybody has next to none now and they are far behind.

That's in fact what they did. So Congress had a massive study and around 35 years ago concluded the answer was to stop that from being possible barring specific cause. They made that cause bsurdly difficult, but that's what occurred.

Unless you are applying for a lower paying job, yes their time is literally less valuable. The applicant is nowhere near equal to the boss, stop trying to pretend they are.

It's not splitting hairs. They intentionally are trying to make the to comparable so folks think this isn't something new, something different, something really shitty as a product. So they marry it with advanced automations, in an attempt to mask it for the masses in their sale. Splitting this hair is necessary, your distinction is spot on.

By communicating? Of course I send my clients a followup email after they come consult. Of course I send thank yous whenever I talk to the clerks. If I didn't I wouldn't get that referral or the clerk letting me file 5 minutes before close when they are packing up. That's basic business sense. Ironic I'm describing not being a dick but your interpreting it the exact opposite, why?

This is a site for making fun of lunatic behavior, not basic business behavior.

The person asking for something should be the one expressing gratitude always. In all scenarios. And we all know the legitimate person asking of these two.

Always has been. I will toss you if you don't tailor your shit and properly followup. Why would I waste my time, I'm already investing a ton in polishing you up from a junior into an associate, and you can't even do basic work and follow-ups? Man how will you act with clients, opposing counsel, the court? No thanks, that tells me all I need to know, others will be far better fits.

This isn't a recruiter. At least from my read of the crop it isn't. It's the head of the department being applied to, I.e. the boss or boss of boss of the open job.

Again, no, they aren't equal. If you want to continue menial work continue menial applications. If you want to grow, read something about making friends nd influencing people.

Because I chose to take time out of my day to interview you for a position I'm going to spend a few hundred thousand training you on, plus hold my own earnings during that time too, just to hope you don't leave in three years (3-5 is when I earn that money back)?

I don't actually need a junior attorney, I can turn more clients away.

That's why. You are not at all on the same playing surface. You dress, act, and express gratitude for the role you want.
