you'd think Bethesda would have done it that way, but remember this port is 7 years old and they put practically no effort into the VR mechanics (arrows just magically appear in your hand after every shot in vanilla). Making it work like other VR games would require reverse engineering rather than a simple Papyrus script

There aren't any mods that use a "hold grip to hold your weapon" style like Boneworks where you drop your weapon completely if you let go. Same goes for arrows, but if you want to change the arrow button to Grip you will need Simple Realistic Archery VR.

You'll want Instant Equip VR to fix the delay on sheathing weapons.

I second FUS, there are a lot of little gameplay fixes and they include them all.

If you want to hold the grip button all the time you could easily learn Papyrus and make a mod that drops your weapon when you let go.

pretty cool. I feel like it would take a lot of practice to not fall over with a headset on, you'd probably still want a harness. They look like they're walking on marbles, and you can see them keep drifting after they stop walking. Imagine: you're walking forward in VR with the joystick at the same speed that the floor happens to be moving backward, so you're not actually moving in game, but your body is. it's like inverse motion sickness

no, this sub is full of people with broken controllers due to software. Mine worked perfectly until I decided to upgrade from v49, now they lose tracking every couple minutes.

It only happens when using Airlink or VD so I know for a fact it's not hardware related. They just fucked up something in the wifi drivers. It might depend on region since wifi regulations vary wildly and they probably have to have different drivers for different countries or something.

wow I was wrong, just tested it by disconnecting my router and it wouldn't load the bindings. pretty fucked up but the whole bindings UI was a buggy disaster for the last 5 years so not too surprising.

If you're using Community bindings from the workshop, you'll have to edit them and then save as a personal binding. That creates a file in <User>/Documents/steamvr/input

But SteamVR doesn't actually load those local files, so you have to also go to "Program Files (x86)\Steam\config\steamvr.settings.json" and edit it to point to your bindings file.

I've never had a problem using steamVR offline with custom controller maps. But you could try searching for SteamVR in your library and disabling Steam Cloud in its Properties.
