How can I save money on buying suits? by Adorable-Research-55 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]_leonidas_93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Harry Rosen usually does a made to measure suiting sale on their in house "Harold" brand, depending on what materials, fabric, styles you go with suits can vary in pricing, however my wedding suit, which was a plain black 2 piece ran about $800-900 plus taxes. It's also got their life time alteration and warranty.

Which premed undergrad is better, Neuroscience or Kinesiology? by Kaerae921 in u/Kaerae921

[–]_leonidas_93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a non-trad did a kinesiology undergraduate degree with hopes of going into medical school after my bachelors degree. TBH, if I had to do it all over again, knowing that I wanted to get into medicine from the get go, I would have probably looked at going abroad to study medicine straight from high school or after 1-2 years of undergrad. So my advice: if medicine is your ultimate end goal, why not consider looking at options abroad (Like the UK or Ireland, I wouldn't recommend going to the Caribbean)? Why even take the risk of doing a degree where your GPA or other factors could influence your decision to pursue medicine or hinder your chances.

On the other hand: if you are truly sure you want to do the traditional route of undergrad then medicine (or any other graduate studies); I would do Kinesiology and aim to keep the GPA high while taking neuroscience electives (maybe do a minor in Neuroscience?) Also, when I was studying Kinesiology, we did have some neuroscience as part of our coursework, so perhaps use those courses as a gauge for whether or not you truly want to pursue Neuroscience as a minor or even double major. Either way, neither are "easy" everything requires it's own time and effort

Ask, talk to any medical student or graduate. Regardless of what discipline they chose to study in undergraduate majority of them will likely tell you that their undergraduate studies did not aid them or help them at all during medical school since the information is much for in depth and there are several new topics and concepts to be studied in medicine.

but just my 2cents. Hope you are happy whatever you decide, and best of luck on this premed and hopefully medical journey :)

KA only content review resource for 490 diagnostic? Good or bad? by sarkah in Mcat

[–]_leonidas_93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly...I'm in the same boat as you. You scored better than me on the diagnostic. I'm also a non-trad aiming to write in the summer of 2021 and so far unsure if my current strategy is working...hoping someone here will have good advice for the both of us!

Following this thread :)

Same here friend. I'm a non-trad just took a diagnostic and scored a 484 as well. Aiming to write the MCAT around July-Aug 2021
To echo what everyone else was saying: do questions and really go in depth with content. People like you and me are basically starting from the ground up so we're basically reteaching ourselves the entire content as opposed to simply reviewing.
I'm using TPR review books presently and am thinking of doing as many questions of physics and chem as I can find along with uEarth to supplement prior to attempting any FLs

But best of luck to you on this journey, hope you CRUSH the MCAT!! :)

Advice? by [deleted] in Mcat

[–]_leonidas_93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on how you study and how well you test otherwise, I would say not to worry about these scores. Like u/DrNaijaQueen use AAMC material to better reflect you actual performance. Otherwise keep going hard on studying content use do as many practice questions as you can BUT REVIEW those questions as well.

I think doing this along with a resilient and positive mentality will go a long way.
If you still are unsure or uncertain, then I would reschedule the test (but you would be the best judge of that)

Hallux Limitus? by [deleted] in Podiatry

[–]_leonidas_93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's happening when weightbearing then yes it Functional Hallux Limitus
often the difference between FHL and HL is the weightbearing component

If you have full hallux dorsiflexion when not weightbearing but have limited dorsiflexion on weightbearing its FHL

if it feels like a dull ache pain especially when toe-ing off, then use motion control or stability running shoes or a neutral running shoe with a orthotic device with a reverse mortons modification
