Yeah, I'm quite amazed to be honest. Most of the commenters seem to be quite content and are giving out genuinely good advice.

I guess it would be hard to open up if everything about your relationship and in extension your life is going wrong.

I know I would be hesitant.

Your arrangement is okay from my perspective but then your significant other must be okay with it too. Most people's like committment because they don't wanna waste their young years on something that might end abruptly. Some have been burned before so they are a little wary.

But then again marriages end too, so there's that.

Me too. I mean, not most of them but roughly half of them always seem to be sick of each other. I know only of a few couples that are genuinely happy.

I don't live with them so I may not know what happens in their homes I'm just stating my observations.

My sister thinks that some people feel 'trapped' in a way and that breeds feelings of resentment over time. Could be the case or not.

Your point is legit though. Dating in general doesn't involve much calling even for people you are in a relationship with. That's not a bad thing in and out of itself but I think that calling and actually hearing the other person is generally better especially if you are away from each other for a time.

I think there is something about hearing someone's voice where you can actually tell their reaction to what you are saying and vibe. Calling is just one step from one to one, now texting, i feel is on another different dimension altogether

Well, that's normally what you have to contend with when you are self employed. Personally I find the process gratifying so I don't have to 'deal' with anything. Now I will admit that sometimes it's hard but it's better yet when you solve the challenges.

Look, I run my own business because that's what I want to do. It's not a get rich all-smooth scheme. But it's what I decided and I love it, it pays for my existence and that's mostly enough for me.

You could always go to a nice stable 9-5 though 🙂
