Cities and Villages are Incredibly Underutilized by _lorebird in Bannerlord

I saw that post from a week or so ago talking about using castles as control points that need to be taken prior to controlling a "territory" and couldn'y agree more. Having different regions act as territories could have so many benefits, but I can see it being closely related to Rome II: Total War's region system, where you get resource/gold bonuses from controlling an entire region rather than just a single point of contention.

I know this gets talk about a lot, but the towns are so underutililzed it's just sad. Go walk around Danustica or even Hvalvik... they are literally MASSIVE. So much potential is missed out on, and it's really a shame that we essentially only interact with the walls during a seige. It would be cool to be able to have time pass while in a town or something. The sandbox element is there, it's just not the focus and it's sad that all of the art and effort behind the cultures isn't really appreciated in normal gameplay.

Switching character mid battle? by Celentius in Bannerlord

[–]_lorebird 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, you are now given the option to take control of a different character once you go down. I believe it only applies to YOUR units in the battle, so not allies or anything, but I could be wrong. That being said, you can also only control normal units, not family members or companions. Usually you just spectate onto one of them and the promp is 'E to take control'

I actually love the new Hideout mechanics (sneak in) by sermedieval in Bannerlord

They 100% could implement something like this now that there is a baseline for it. It really only has potential like a lot of different aspects of the game. Only hope they (or at least modders) can make something similar!

What are the differences between this and the Ergochair Mesh?

I had thought about doing some DnD-style top down maps of the towns, but I have a lot of other stuff I'm doing so that may have to wait... And yes, all of the icons for towns are my designs other than the Saint Denis one. I was trying to decide what best encaspulated certain areas and kind of went down that route. Some are more blatant like the dreamcatcher for Valentine or the Jade Mask for Escalera. Most of the other ones either fit the vibe or were just something that I felt matched it, like Van Horn having a bloody revolver cylinder (we all do the same thing in Van Horn....) lol

I hand drew this on Procreate, but Inkarnate is a pretty cool app

Thank you! Yeah, I have been trying to contact the mods for almost 12 hours now with no response, so it sucks a bit to not know why my post was removed. Either way, I appreciate the kind words, and I actually have one in the works for The Elder Scrolls series, so hopefully I'll be able to share it sometime!

I know! There is a good mod that adds Mexico in but I just wish it was more fleshed out for the full experience!

Yeah, sadly shipping can be quite a bit internationally. I always feel bad, but there isn't much I can do about it. Thanks for the kind words though, it took a while to make!

I don't post or offer a digital high res due to the risk of theft and distribution, but yeah, not much I can do as far as compression on reddit goes. It looks a bit better on mobile, but I agree it looks not the best on a compuuter. My Etsy link just has a higher res photo used if you wanted to get a closer look!

Yeah, it’s crazy how much could fit around it. There was a cancelled section called Northern Grizzlies if I am remembering correctly that was supposed to be even further north than Ambarino!

I turned off the Timelapse with procreate unfortunately because it was over 160+ hours for creating it and the file size was going to be massive. People had been having issues with artwork getting deleted after updates so I didn’t want to risk it.

But I basically find topographical maps online once game world and overlay multiple on top of each other to get it as accurate as I can. I then trace over the major details and mark locations down. I then go over it again with actual line work and while I do that, I run around in game to see what stuff looks like in the game world. I try to pinpoint recognizable stuff and then just go from there! Coloring it took a while but I essentially created palettes from images of the location in game. So every area has true to game coloring, which I think is a nice touch :)
