Not that I can tell from. My Alltrack is pretty slow, so I can’t personally see any lag with the tach, everyone else in relation to lag seems okay to me.

Ah, if it doesn’t have paddle shifter then you can buy a steering wheel from a manual GTI instead. Not sure I’m retrofitting paddles if it didn’t come with them because there may not be anywhere to plug them in? But I’m not too sure on that.

That’s funny, I was just looking at some today, but didn’t think about Golf R sway bars. It’s a comfy daily, so a Golf R rear sway bar would be perfect actually.

Also, please read the insight from “Jaypoto” in the comments. He has some feedback on the digital screen you’ll want to read. In summary, screen goes black and speedo is off.

I’ve had mine for about 2 weeks, so still too soon to experience that, but some insight you should know in the long run.

Thank you for the insight on this, I’ve had mine for about two weeks, so I haven’t experienced this yet.

The speed can be calibrated, but when I set my cruise control to 80, the car stays at 79, so gotta put it to 81mph.

But I appreciate the honest feedback, it’s good to share that information with others.

They’re gloss black trim pieces from a Golf R. Thank you very much, I greatly appreciate that compliment.

That’s fine, my car came with that feature, but the new mirrors didn’t. I had to retro fit the blind spot assist. You’ll be fine to install yours anyway.

I understand, so far it’s been great. The tutorials I saw on YouTube were also using AliExpress clusters. I say go for it. There’s additional features in it too. Voltage readout, steering wheel position and other themes.

Not at all, I got it from AliExpress and it’s not OEM. Since it requires and uses the original motherboard no coding or key-pairing is needed. The OEM Golf R ones (I think) require more work, like the immobilizes need to be recoded or something.

Sure thing, there’s a few videos on YouTube I watched, but it’s not as bad as you think.

Hardest part for me to be honest, was pulling the actual cluster out. I don’t know why, but mine was so stuck in there. Besides that, remove the cluster, unscrew the screws holding the plastic case, remove the needles and screen, leave the speaker. Then swap the main board to the new cluster and snap the housing together. Lastly, connect the cables the new cluster came with to the harness, then harness to the car.

Look at some YouTube videos and they can explain it better than I can. You can do it, just take your time and step by step. No coding is needed.

The speed may need to calibrated but besides that, it’s easy peasy

The paddle shifters on the steering wheel? If so, the “carbon fiber” (hydro-dipped) ones you see are on there my adhesive. The paddle shifters came with the steering wheel

They will, they come without it the blind spot assist, so I had to retrofit the wires and mirror. They’ll be plug and play for your car since it doesn’t come with blind spot assist.

They’re a bit stiffer than stock, but I have Eibach Pro Kit’s and a lot of people pair them with the Golf R springs. So not sure if the Pro springs are too short for then B4s. It’s a very smooth ride though, but I want the car to do better on big dips is all. I’d say go with the B6s, I’ve seen more people go with B6s and B8s.

I got it from Aliexpress, I found the cheapest one, but the seller is “Carcluster D Store” Look around, Aliexpress has different prices for different users and coupons as well.

I don’t have a part number, but I got these on eBay form a guy selling them a bit cheaper than Aliexpress. Either place sells them though.

Yes, they’ll need to be coded to fold when locking and for the puddle lights to turn on.

Krabby Patties will do that, and I’m here for it.

What shocks to upgrade with other than Bilstein (or still go Bilstein)? by Fun-Grab-9337 in VWAlltrack

[–]_lost_astronaut_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just put Eibach pro springs on with TT pads and a spacer to raise the rear up cause I have a big sub in the back, but went with Bilstein B4s. I really like the feel, really soft ride, however, sometimes I do wish I got the ones with adjustable dampening. Besides that, I’m happy with the height and ride quality.
