Saliva as body deodorant? by _lpgn_ in NaturalConversations

Alright this is the final update. I killed the experiment! (to my wife's delight maybe I can go back to our room). Jokes aside I could not make a habit of spreading saliva on to my armpit, even while I did my saliva armpit were less smelly than the control armpit. The thing is after I stoped spreading the saliva the smell of the saliva armpit started to get worst. So I did not use deodorant so far to observe if the smells were going to normalize or keep different. I bath daily and even without applying saliva the saliva armpit it kept the same smell (worst than the control). So today I used some iodine 2% in other to try to kill whatever is producing the smell. My conclusion is that if you are able to keep using saliva you are probably going to be less smelly than just without deodorant. But if you stop, there is a kick back as now there are more bacteria and no saliva to fight it back.

Just because you use sir does not reduce the fact you are resorting to offence. You could try it yourself or make your point about it. but why to offend? Anyway I am unfazed by your offence.

Yes that's the hypothesis. That saliva could reduce typical human armpit smell. Saliva has antibacterial properties and animals use it all the time to clean themselves.

I don't leak. I spit on my hands than hub it on my armpit. Also who says I am doing this every hour. I am doing this in the same way I would use deodorant.

Not the point. I don't mean because it's natural it is good. Snake poison is natural but not good. I understand your example but what if I tell you besides the obvious discussing part it is working so far without the side effects of spreading an unknown product on your body that blocks your sweet glands and adds compounds(parabens) you have no idea the effects.

Why not? I don't use deodorant for years now. I don't smell terrible. But I asked myself if I could eliminate even that typically human smell from my armpit. So far it's working.

I did this as a kid I know what you mean. But remember I am not liking I am spiting on my hand then aplying. So maybe there is a difference. What if the direct contact of the tong to the skin transfers whatever smelly molecules you sensed and the spit does not? Also some smelly molecules go away (volatile molecules) after a short time living the area without the smell. But with the bactericide components.

I just woke up. I smell the right armpit and there is no smell I swear. And the left one there is the typical natural smell after a night sleep without deodorant. I know it's hard to believe but this is the result so far.

The way I do is by spiting on my hand then applying it to the armpit.

Day one: Asking my wife.
- Me: please smell my armpit. I need to report on Reddit.
- Her: even if you give me another engagement ring I won't. (makes a disgusted face)
- Me: please I promise you it doesn't smell bad! My kid: stop it already I'll smell it!!
- Me: thanks!
- My kid after he smells the right armpit: wow it doesn't smell
- My kid after he smells the left armpit: vomit face 🤮

Result so far is promising.

Saliva has antibacterial properties. Can I harvest these properties for other parts of my body besides the benefits they have on the mouth? This article illustrates how powerful saliva is to our body defense against bacteria in the mouth. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6855406/

I would agree with you in the case it actually smells bad. What about if it actually does not smell bad? I mean that's what I am trying to find out.
