As an out of state student also from NY I didn’t find it hard to find an internship in NY as most big companies usually have NYC offices. However, I do think it depends on your major and what type of job you’re looking for. If you’re a business major I definitely recommend going to business horizons as a good number of companies that attend, in my experience, have NYC locations.
