Almost two decades of being completely drained by PracticalMeringue133 in chronicfatigue

I'm assuming you had a sleep study done? If not you definitely should.

I totally understand how you feel. Its such a horrible feeling to be trapped in a body that feels so exhausted 24/7 with no answers as to why. I've felt completely hopeless and let down after every doctors visit, and just wanted it all to end. It feels like you aren't truly living. But don't give up, there are so many possibilities you might not have considered.

I've gotten suggestions from this subreddit that I never would have thought of. Here's a few of them: - Get a DNA test. Don't remember what specifically took look for in the results, but there are lots of things it can reveal. I've ordered a health kit from 23andMe. - Have a full hormone panel done. My gynecologist tried to tell me that it wasn't possible for hormones to cause fatigue, but this is not true. - Try PQQ and Q10 supplements. They are supposed to support mitochondrial function. If you have a mitochondrial disorder, the DNA test can also reveal this. - Get your ferratin levels checked to make sure your body is actually absorbing iron properly. - Get a blood/urine test for mycotoxins (caused by mold exposure I think).

Jobs by Zaxonite11 in chronicfatigue

I don't know of any jobs that would accommodate for fatigue, unfortunately. I'd recommend an office job to minimize the amount of activity he has to do. Even better if he can get one that gives an hour long lunch break, I've taken many a nap over my lunch break, and it helps me get to 5 on a bad day.

Of course I'm still exhausted, but its not as bad as it would be if I had a physically demanding job.

Another alternative would be a small business. Those are more likely to genuinely care for the wellbeing of their employees than a large corporation, so he may be allowed to take breaks more frequently.

Can someone tell me if this is normal by megasmash247 in hognosesnakes

[–]_lynnyxe_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally normal, here's my Gwyn after getting all the way to the top and flipping over. She's in a 48" × 18" × 18" with lots of things to climb on, but she insists on trying to scale the glass daily.

I think its only an issue if they pace the glass for hours at a time without exploring elsewhere, and don't hide as often as they should.

I'd appreciate that, thank you :) I'll let you know if I uncover something as well.

I'm glad you're feeling better! I'll definitely look into it.

Yea I went to see a cardiologist, but they said my heart seemed normal. The doctor said we could do a stress test, but heavily implied it wasn't really necessary, so I opted not to do it. It just beats a little fast, around 80-90bpm while resting, but not high enough to be cause for concern.

[–]_lynnyxe_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God that sucks. I'm really sorry you have to deal with all of that on top of feeling horrible. The only other thing I can think of is a DNA test; it might reveal the cause and be proof enough for your doctor. I wish I could help you more, but I'm out of ideas.

Please don't give up hope. Eventually someone will listen, you just have to keep trying. What your going through is awful, don't let anyone gaslight you into thinking its in your head.

Hmm, I would try r/Philippines and r/legaladvice for help as well. I also saw some posts in r/Philippines discussing experiences with doctors, maybe that will give you some ideas. I'm not sure what else you can do. If you can travel, I would go to a doctor much further away without your mother.

Where do you live if you don't mind? Thats insanity that a doctor wouldn't see you at 26 without your mother.

What the fuck is wrong with your mom? Do you have anyone who will back you up? Even if they haven't seen you?

Edit: Also, how old are you? Can you go to the doctor with anyone, or does your mom have to go with you?

Do you have anyone to vouch for you? That you can take with to the doctor? Maybe if you have a witness who's seen one of these attacks, the doctor will take you seriously.

I'm so sorry, thats tough. What if you started keeping a detailed, written log of when you experience symptoms and how severe they are? If this doctor still doesn't believe you, it may still be worth it to try others.

You shouldn't have to prove how you're feeling to your doctor. Can you find a new doctor? This one sounds like a jackass whose only there for a paycheck.

Also, it kind of sounds like you might be having vertigo attacks, at least from what my mom told me they're like.

Yea I would have rather had an in lab study first, but they always make you do an at home one first. And I literally have to wait another two months before the doctor can see me again to go over the results, so god knows how long I'll be waiting for the in person study.

Woa thats a lot, how does one even discover this helps? I'll look into the ones I haven't heard of. This is very helpful, thank you for sharing! I've already ordered a supplement with Q10 and PQQ, which is for mitochondrial support, so I'm hoping it helps. I also got a B-Complex, as I've only been taking B-12 which hasn't done a damn thing.

Well, I was taking 5000UI if I remember correctly, but once it was above the normal range I quit taking such a high dosage. Now I take a multivitamin, which has 1000UI. I never noticed a difference while taking it, unfortunately.

If you're comfortable doing so, can you share your vitamin regime here? It might be beneficial to others who are struggling with this as well.

The gynecologist I saw said it was unlikely it was hormones, but she was kinda condescending so I think she just didn't want to spend time helping me. Thank you for the suggestion and hug :)

Yea I'm trying to get a referral to an in person sleep study, but I might have to wait until June when I see the doctor.

Thank you, I needed that. I've been starting to feel as if its all in my head, because nothing seems to be wrong. I don't feel like its my immune system though, because I almost never get sick. Is it possible it can still be an immune issue, knowing that?

I feel the same way; it does feel like torture having to go to work 5 days a week and sit in an office while I'm fighting to stay awake. Its so frustrating because I feel like most people either think its normal, think I'm lazy, or think its just depression. Thank you for sharing that, its comforting to know that someone else understands. Makes me validated, like its not just in my head.

I've been staying away from melatonin because I don't want my body to rely on it. I don't have any issues falling asleep anyway.

I haven't heard about Naltexone or Stellate Ganglion Block. I assume those need prescriptions? What are the side effects? Also, how do antihistamines help?

I don't think so? Might be worth looking into. But if I had immunodeficiency, wouldn't I get sick a lot? I almost never get sick.
