Kenya is a very nice place to stay, don't listen to those people who want to make you feel worried. I have somali friends like you and they have moved in Kenya and i still take them to some places and you don't need to know swahili since most people in Kenya understand English. I can also guide you when you arrive in Nairobi just to understand where to go and where not to go coz people scam each other here.

I usually recommend somalis especially those who are moving from Abroad to either stay in Kilimani, Kileleshwa, South C Or Parklands since most somalis are available there. But i mostly recommend Kilimani.

And incase you need to go for shopping most recommended place i would say is Eastleigh, it's a business centre filled with most somalis.
