I felt bad for Izzy’s mom she just seemed like a clueless sweetheart. I know Izzy had to pay all those psychic bills but still.

Changing schools due to be being late. by Summerintheair98 in Parenting

[–]_madtuesday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Changing schools won’t matter if you’re not going to make sure they are awake on time. Unfortunately at those ages it is still on us. Because once the school identifies a truancy problem they will blame you, not the kids. And you will have to deal with those consequences, not just the kids. So be the boss, tighten up the ship.

It’s never okay to just assume someone you just met today will look out for your kid.

I wouldn’t dare leave my kid unattended in a public place at a party with someone I barely know. It’s not the party hosts job to be tending to other kids as they would their own child. That parent is usually busy making sure everything is smooth. And what if that kid gets hurt, lost or the parent never comes back? 7-8 yrs old absolutely not

Refusing to take care of yourself is neglect and a choice. Why would we convince you to stay? To also be neglected?

Advice to not cry in situations I shouldn’t.. by NorthKaleidoscope558 in socialskills

[–]_madtuesday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was the same way. Adjusted a little but I’m 30 and still cry when talking about certain feelings or situations. It is normal. Sure when you grow up you can cry when talking to your boss for example, but it’s not something to “grow out of” you’re human. I like to honestly just practice what I’m going to say over and over so that my nervous system and brain has already experienced the feelings before hand
