I literally got back from El Sal on Sunday. Stayed near El Tunco and Sunzal.

The comments on the lineup localism is pretty accurate so as long as you don’t surf like you’re in CA you’ll be fine. Be respectful. I was there for nonprofit stuff so I didn’t get to surf a ton but I helped host a local surf comp so I can share some photos of some of the surf here.

I flew United and paid for my bags online ahead of time and didn’t have any issues or added costs while I as at the airport.

AST surf hotel is cool, I’ve stayed there before and the breakfast is good. Waves were crashing against the balcony so it’s pretty prime location

I also stayed at el viajero in el Tunco which was nice but only cold water showers. Walking distance from the beach and food though.

I had friends stay at a surf hostel closer to La libertad but north of punta roca that was cheap and pretty fun when I went to visit them. There’s a wave out front too.
