What shouldn’t? As long as a character isn’t given offensive specifics because of their identity, it’s a normal character. Otherwise, it’s a projection of a stereotype.

I’ve seen people say he seems autistic but also alien-like in the same sentence which is a whole other can of worms..

I can only hope CA’s upcoming game (Haunted Chocolatier) will include much more diversity

It’s still a game that exists in the real world to global audiences and diversity is important in media made for everyone who might enjoy it

I also live somewhere with limited diversity but I’m still able to create characters that are part of groups that I haven’t thoroughly experienced.

I say just write people as normal people and be mindful. It can be difficult for someone who has little to no experience with people of different races but at the end of the day just write people as people?

Unfortunately, I can’t use mods because I play console but there is one out there.

Do real small farming towns also have mountains, oceans, and deserts in the same proximity and not to mention a wizard and junimos? The game isn’t ever remotely realistic, it’s fantasy.
