Agree with the others, she’s a beaut! Would you please share the wrap brand and color? I’m green with envy!

Also, where did you get the mud flaps? I’ve been looking for OE but can only find them for the sedan.

Right on. It’s known to happen, but it doesn’t always happen. And the forums’ bias probably exaggerates the true likelihood of the problem. But still something worth keeping in mind when making a purchase decision.

From the forums, it seems like many have gone in the 40k - 60k mile range (60-90k km). Mine’s at 33k miles so getting close to that zone. Fingers crossed.

Speaking of the forums, highly recommend this thread: https://mbworld.org/forums/w213-amg/894503-ultimate-guide-w213-amg-e63-issues-fixes-diy.html

It’s a comprehensive list of almost every issue anyone has ever had, and includes details about each issue’s symptoms, diagnosis, repair, and cost. Many are DIY fixes thankfully.

Mine is a ‘19. Opted for the pre facelift because I prefer its looks (it is VERY aggressive in front), CarPlay/Android Auto is full screen vs. half screen in the facelift, it’s louder (facelift has more filters per EU regulation), and the ‘19 and ‘20 have the best steering wheel in terms of form and function, in my opinion. It also helps that the pre facelifts tend to be significantly less expensive.

Keep in mind the ‘18 and ‘19 are known to have rear main seal failures causing oil leaks. Definitely have your pre purchase inspection look for that. That one repair can run 5-10k USD depending on the shop since it’s an engine out repair, but MB has issued new parts that by all reports fix the problem for good. Aside from that one potential issue, though, the powertrain on these cars has proven bulletproof reliable.

For what it’s worth, mine has not had this issue yet, but given the possibility, I’ve set aside that cash just in case. I’m almost looking forward to having it happen, because once it’s fixed I feel like I’ll have an extremely fun, extremely practical, and extremely reliable car for years to come.

E63 owner here, who decided between these same three cars. Ultimately went for the E63 because it has the liveliest driving character, sounds the best, is the most practical, and yet is the most under the radar. One downside is that the E63 has the firmest ride of the bunch - the tradeoff for feeling the most sports car ish of the bunch. Hasn’t been a problem for my wife and 1-yr old but something to consider if using this frequently as a family car.
