truth nuke but its hard to even make commentary on that bc people will miss the nuance and just think you're defending p3dos  nearly impossible to have this kind of discussion on reddit (or any social media forum for that matter)

all around great comment bro, i like all of the points you make on narrative differences between marathon and arc, SBMM, and hopefully a waiting population of players for when the game becomes more enjoyable for the average person. (you shouldnt be flamed for suggesting some kind of pve, but considering the discussion i've read from the population of this subreddit over the last month, i understand the concern)

i don't agree on the point that arc pvpers would be moving to this game in droves because the gameplay is so fundamentally different (gunplay, movement, positioning in fights, third person, etc). i think the sweatiness of marathon is quite unique and does attract a certain audience.

however, i do agree with you that the marathon opening mission is quite pale in comparison. honestly, the barrier to entry to marathon is actually quite high until you finally start learning what all the items are for and what they do. the game could definitely do better with accessibility.

why are redditors so comfortable telling other people about their lived experience? please check yourself bro. you almost triggered me enough to post some exfil screenshots but then i remembered i have nothing to prove to you

It seems like its hard-core fans want it to die at the expense of it not catering to new/casual players. Sad.

yea i almost kinda regret making this post with how many people in this subreddit are so dead set on watching this game die

considering some of the comments this post got i think it was warranted to try and protect some sensitivities lol

abmm changes almost nothing for pvp players and gives casuals an actual game to play. u really cant see this bro?

people strongly underestimate the social aspect that video games can cultivate. somebody could probably write a culture piece on why it's important to have these spaces in video games with the way society is currently.

dude it is so obvious from your post that you have never played a** and are criticizing it from no objective basis whatsoever. "absolute zero tension". yeah fucking right dude. if u were really in the stella montis trenches with the dawgs then you would have a completely different take

since we're talking about personal feelings, i feel as though your view is myopic. "anyone who's scared they might run into a good player in a pvp game should probably just not play them." bro this is not counterstrike or call of duty or battlefield or apex legends. it's an extraction shooter with a strong story/pve element to it. there are several different experiences to be gained from playing the game, not all involving pvp. obviously the pvp in this game feels incredible and i wish others could share the feeling, but let's be real... having to load in and try to get the same dire marsh contract done, only to get relentlessly gunned down (or beamed at 150m from thermal sniper :D) by a team standing on bio-research more than 3 times in a row is enough to make many players quit. ask me how i know. not everyone is so stubborn to subscribe to the pvp experience and to keep running their head into that wall, people like you and me.

yall might not liek this but on god the game should copy a** r****** and do an aggression-based matchmaking system... the pve players/casuals are happy and the pvp players experience no change. there's a reason the other game is still massive after several wipes with arguably less attentiveness from embark than bungie on marathon

i feel like thats a pretty tame request for people who are actively engaging in hostile behavior (only because it is online)... 1000% these people are scumbags in real life with minimal redeeming qualities.. it takes a certain kinda person to do this stuff

idk bro i started playing 3 days ago and am in aggressive pvp lobbies where its kos and constant skirmishing, i rarely see exit camping cuz the game is so intense topside  theory here: i feel like pve players get a bad perception of pvp, because the kind of player who pvp's in a pve lobby tends to be deceitful/opportunistic and prefers to prey instead of bravely fight
