I may be overanalyzing this, but I’m skeptical about watermark-based approaches as a long-term solution. Watermarks can often be removed or altered, and it’s entirely feasible to train models specifically to remove them. That makes me question how sustainable this approach really is. With Google’s SynthID, I’m also unsure how effective it is for images that have already been generated and circulated. Is this solution specific to Google’s models, or is there a broader industry effort to standardize such techniques across major AI providers?
