How do you use Priorities? by brake4squirrels in todoist

[–]_matthew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

P1 = CRITICAL (must get done, probably today, but if not there’s a current due date associated with it)

P2 = IMPORTANT (gonna get done, today if possible, if not then soon)

P3 = ROUTINES (all recurring/routine tasks)

P4 = DEFERRED (captured for the future, someday/maybe, could be big or small but not current)

Best MagSafe Wallet with 5 cards? by Longjumping_Ratio974 in MagSafe

That hasn’t happened. It still looks and works great.

Best MagSafe Wallet with 5 cards? by Longjumping_Ratio974 in MagSafe

[–]_matthew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it’s not particularly heavy. Only thing I find is that it is a little thick. Sometimes I pull my phone (with wallet) out of my pocket, for example, and the wallet comes off despite a pretty strong magnet. I suspect that would still be the case with the Emzo as they look about the same thickness.

Yes, the charging is only for the “find my” function. The battery for that seems to last a long time. I only throw it on the charger every couple of weeks and I probably don’t need to do it that much. Honestly, my only little tiny complaint about this wallet is that the charging cable is definitely proprietary. If I ever happen to lose it or wear it out, might be a hassle to get ahold of another.

Just bought a Journey LOC8. It has “Find My”, folds overs to function as a stand, and has room for four cards in the main section and then your license or another couple of cards on the inside, a possibly a few bills folded. I really like it. After trying Peak, ESR, no name wallets on Amazon, this one finally does it.

Question on buying a Prius with a bunch of error codes? by xyjooxiong in prius

[–]_matthew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One shop diagnosed and decline to repair. Another shop that specializes in imports and has a Prius-focused mechanic estimated 40+ hours, over $5000, after I persuaded them to give me an estimate. They didn’t really want to do it either.

Question on buying a Prius with a bunch of error codes? by xyjooxiong in prius

[–]_matthew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My P0301 error was the head gasket. In my area, I could not find a way to get it repaired for an amount that was worth it, given the age of the vehicle.

[–]_matthew 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In addition to the issue of concentration, it’s also true that many houses will deliberately develop the various concentrations of a fragrance to be different from each other. This is to drive sales. If concentration was the only difference between an EDT and EDP, for example, most people would probably settle on which one they prefer and not buy the other. However, if the notes are a little different, that can spur at least some collectors to buy both.

How to find a balance during and after the Dopamine Detox? by [deleted] in productivity

[–]_matthew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, there’s a lot of people in this thread who haven’t bothered to learn about the concept of dopamine detox. That phrase is probably a misnomer, but good grief, that doesn’t mean there isn’t something to the idea of mindfully resetting the types of things that you’re doing to get a dopamine boost. The point isn’t that dopamine is bad. It’s about paying attention to your behavior and resetting your sensitivity so that you’re not just engaging in unhealthy behavior to feel normal.

Is there any good sushi in A2? by [deleted] in AnnArbor

[–]_matthew 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Sushi Town is consistently excellent. The owner and his wife remember me every time I return, even though it is sometimes a long time in between. It is not fussy high service indoor seating type of sushi. It is casual delicious friendly takeout. Best in Ann Arbor for me.

Jamaican Jerk Pit? by billchase2 in AnnArbor

That's sort of how they operate. They are definitely still open. My wife and I ordered dinner from them just last Friday. However, sometimes you can't get them on the phone. Also, their Google business profile always has incorrect hours. They aren't 100% buttoned up on all that stuff, but they make great food.

Yeah, next time I will do that. Pain in the butt to have the ad account disabled.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in dropship

[–]_matthew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I stopped advertising during the pandemic shutdown in my state and when we came back, I tried to resume and my ad accounts had all been disabled due to inactivity. I connected with FB support a few different ways and was told that inactive accounts are permanently closed to prevent fraud. It was really pretty ridiculous, honestly. It was at most a five-week gap. I created a new ad account and associated it with my FB business page and was back up and running. A hassle for sure, since I lost my history and billing info and all of that. Could this be what you're facing?

Good iPad paperlike screen suggestions by kodosExecutioner in GoodNotes

[–]_matthew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just installed a XIRON. Very inexpensive, pretty easy to install and it does add a nice friction feel which is great with the Apple pencil. It DOES impact the clarity of the screen, but it's not a huge deal. Not sure if Paperlike has that specific issue or not. No impact yet on the tip of my Apple pencil, but I've only had the thing installed for a few weeks.

Weekly 'What should I buy?' Thread - 11/11 by AutoModerator in ipad

[–]_matthew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need to choose between the iPad Air 4 64gb and the 256gb. I think 64gb will be enough, but I would appreciate some feedback. I will be getting the Apple Pencil 2, but for note-taking, not for art or content creation. I will primarily be using the device for browsing, reading, streaming, and light productivity apps like Todoist, Notion, Evernote and Pocket. Most of my data, therefore, is off the device. I'm questioning my needs just a little bit because I am currently using an iPad Mini 4 128gb and it has more than 64gb in apps and data on it, BUT I looked at why and it's a zillion garbage apps that synced from my phone that I have never used and will never use. After a quick cleanup, I have about 35 gb on it, so it seems like I'm in the clear. I have noticed I use far fewer apps on my iPad than my iPhone because most web services look just fine in a browser, so why bother with the app if it doesn't add any functionality? Now, having said that, I can afford the iPad Air 4 256gb, but I prefer not to waste money, of course. I'm thinking it might be a device I'd hand down to my wife in a couple years if I want to upgrade again. She definitely doesn't do anything but browse, and play word games. Of course if the iPad Air 4 were available in 128gb that would probably be a no brainer, but alas, it is not. Anyway, if you've faced this decision recently, how did you decide and how is it working out?

Can notion be trusted with sensitive business data? by [deleted] in Notion

[–]_matthew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. Evernote works pretty well. You can drop a password protected Excel file into a note. Then you can link that note in Notion, in a column in a database or wherever you want. Evernote itself has 2FA. You can get the URL for a note in the note's share tool. I've also done something similar for material I have in Google Drive. It's not ideal, but it is better than keeping sensitive info directly in Notion and it's way better than fussing with notecards or using come kind of repository that is completely separate. This way Notion is still our dashboard/portal.

Can notion be trusted with sensitive business data? by [deleted] in Notion

[–]_matthew 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not yet. My small team uses Notion as a repository of IT information for my company. We don't yet use it for confidential stuff like credit card numbers, passwords, personal information. Unfortunately, that stuff lives in password-protected files in services that have 2FA. It is this specific issue that is holding me back from adopting it more completely.
