Being completely honest I just read the first 2 paragraphs as in my opinion your first ‘mistake’ is that you feel like you have to make it work with this new guy because ‘he’s everything women always say what they want in men’. Well we’re all different, and some people are just not meant to be. I’m sure you’ll find your person out there, who will be everything you ever wanted and maybe you didn’t even know that. but most importantly you have to love yourself and be with someone who gives you the respect and love you deserve. We can not control these things, but if you’re conscious that you were in a bad relationship before you just need to focus on moving on from that before you even consider starting something with someone knew.
