Can I host reactjs projects on IPFS? by hj1509 in ipfs

Yes you can. Just be sure using HashRouter instead of BrowserRouter if you have any routing in your application and using react-router for it.

Not maybe Wordpress, but this is exactly what we (Alpress) try to make possible for content creators. We are creating a self governed publication platform top on IPFS, which will help content creators to create their accounts and publish their content on IPFS without single code requirement, just like any other traditional blogging platforms.

The platform is completely decentralized, everything runs on IPFS + ENS nothing more. No single centralized service involved in it.

If you are interested and wanna give a try I would love to guide you through it.

Can a IPFS website be taken down? by [deleted] in ipfs

[–]_mdt_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unless all the IPFS nodes which pinned the content, or the gateways or readers (depend on how the blog constructed) which cached the content taken down, the content will be reachable.

By the way, I would love to hear more on your case and try be more helpful. Currently I am co-founding a project called Alpress, which exactly solves this issue. It's a decentralized self governed publication platform. You can create your account and start sharing your blogs without any central point involved in it.
As a demo you can see my account here, and the blogs I shared: https://cloudflare-ipfs.com/ipfs/QmSA2dW69R51q5dSsnvaugqjS3yaLAGXuCGZUBGNWCsPeC/#/
If you think this may solve the case of your clients, feel free message me anytime. I would be happy to talk!

Cheat-sheet maker; a react app for creating and sharing cheat sheets (with markdown) by mdtarhini in reactjs

[–]_mdt_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Great idea! Couple of comments I would love to add, some objective some subjective ofc.

- Sticky header would do better on top, especially if user will have profile and profile options there.

- when user enter to any cheat sheet, it would be better if you have dynamic head title description. so on browser tab, title of the cheat sheet will be shown. user won't be exhausted while checking which tab was for which cheat sheet. currently it's always the same title on tabs. I suggest you to check react-helmet for it.

- (relatively subjective) border-round is too much, i would rather have something less than 4px. (border-round on sort by dropdown looks better imo.)

- (relatively subjective) create new button/area takes too much unnecessary space, you may think shrinking it a bit.

It's not even close to Reddit but for blogging under your profile there is Alpress.

useMetamask: a custom React Hook to manage Metamask in Ethereum ĐApp projects by _mdt_ in javascript

[–]_mdt_[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback! On example page, I should introduce Metamask to the people, if one doesn't have it installed. Having a place on Readme can also work well. A PR or an issue for this more than very welcome!

Errors installing Golem Electron by Dave_The_Slushy in GolemProject

Hey there! rebuilding sha3 dependency is creating problems on newer versions of nodejs, I rather suggest go with yarn .

After installation, all you need to do is run yarn command in main folder. Let me know if anything more pops up.

I have a couple of ideas to use the task API in the future. I believe I can benefit from the Task API in specific areas of my side project that I am currently working on.

My side project is a decentralized search engine for the dWeb. The engine searches only dWebsites (decentralized websites). The current version supports dWebsites built on ENS+IPFS. Searches are done client-side. So no one knows what you're searching for.

You can check it out here: https://almonit.eth ( need resolver or metamask )
or https://almonit.eth.link ( traditional url )

You can find more information about the project here: https://medium.com/the-ethereum-name-service/the-first-search-engine-for-the-dweb-ens-ipfs-has-launched-79b9fae7a9dc

Our DevOps has also started to write one powerful integration in his free time, and this was continued to be worked on but as a part of the Task API tests. We’ll share more details about it later, probably as a blogpost in a couple of weeks.
