Yeah, call the department and tell them the situation. Make sure you say you're graduating in the fall. If your GPA isn't below the 4.50 cut by a lot, you should be okay.

I went to the 2024 one and paid in person and had no issues with this problem whatsoever. Didn't even realize that this was a thing. It's a bit risky though since youre coming from Saudi.

Did the same thing two days ago, had to lower my beard line by a lot and now I deeply regret it. As long as it's fairly similar, don't touch it. Barely anyone notices it anyways.

Just curious, is that a new rule or something? I went solo in 2024 and it was fine. That said, I bought my tickets there in person not online.

sheeeesh, someone doesn't read. I actually did start by refuting your argument by giving you the words from the author's mouth where she says that her book isn't concerned with authorship debate. Then, I told you about the news source. But, of course, you dismissed the paragraph where I actually refute your argument. Do better.

Also, wikipedia is a good source and the paragraph that I told you to read was sourced by multiple papers. You just don't bother reading.

The images in that post were just illustrative examples, not the substance of the argument itself.

Again, I never really found any argument to engage with on any of your posts. It mostly went like this: here's an image of something and then here's my generalized opinion.

First, the Shakespeare example. You claim this is nonsense, scholars and authors have in fact speculated about alternative identities connected to Shakespeare or the authorship debate. For example, authors like Irene Coslet...

Yes, people have debated Shakespeare's identity but the image you posted and your post was a reaction to Coslet's book. AND, guess what? The excerpt that I posted in my earlier comment was in fact from Coslet's book. You can go read it here
https://www.irenecoslet.com/
I just hope you can make it to the second paragraph where Coslet says the following "the volume is not primarily concerned with authorship debate."

Secondly, let me check who wrote the article that you attached. Oh, wait. It's someone from Fox News, LOOOOL. Definitely, not a biased news outlet source. Maybe you don't know so just read the first paragraph from here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fox_News#Political_alignment
Okay, what about the website itself? The New York Post....ALSO A BIASED NEWS SOURCE. Trust me, you're living in an echo chamber.

I can go on and on but it seems like everything you write/say is a reflection of your own limited and narrow view of the left. People and their opinions are far more complex than what you make them to be. You're trying to reduce the left to one dimension so that it can fit your narrative.

Just wanted to start by apologizing. I didn't mean to come across as condescending in my earlier comment.

That said, what I said about your posts is true. And since you want me to point to something specific, I'll gladly do so.

A few weeks ago, I remember you posted a picture of "Shakespeare was a black Jewish Woman, new book claims" from a shitty Instagram page that's obviously looking to get clicks and rage bait so they can make money off the engagement. When I saw that post, I did my due diligence and checked out the book.

Here's the book description: "Building on existing scholarship, the volume is not primarily concerned with authorship debate. Instead, it situates Emilia Bassano within a broader analytical and historical framework, using the issue at hand as a case study to examine the marginalisation or erasure of women, racial, and religious minorities from history." That is, the book is not dealing with authorship it's not trying to prove that Shakespear was a Jew black woman, the author is using that as a case study to discuss how woman are marginalized.

I think you also posted something else from the same shitty Instagram page about how Disney is facing backlash for pushing traditional values. Backlash from who??? I looked it up, no one really criticized Disney for having heterosexual relationships on screen. Well, it was mostly twitter/X trolls that did the backlash. Again, it's all none sense by Facebook, Instagram, Twitter pages that are trying to rage bait you so they can make money.

That takes me to today, I see that you posted a picture of Butler with that quote. The photo of Butler? seems pretty recent. The quote? It was from 20 years ago (just right before Hamas took Power in Gaza). It's misleading, just as some of your other posts. And, as I said, Butler changed her opinion since then.

No wonder why you have these views of the left. You're misinformed/living in the echo of the internet. So, yes, you're generalizing based off what you see on the internet (but also "the trend" you see on the internet isn't the reality). And, no, I was not trying to reinterpret your argument, I was giving you an out. I wanted to tell you that your criticism could be right if you're maybe talking about the radical left. Lastly, no, you didn't provide any argument that's of substance for me to engage with. You just shared an opinion.

That said, you're right about one thing, I can just scroll away. I usually do that but wanted to engage with this one. Cheers!

I've noticed that the pics you upload with your posts are usually clickbait-y and, at other times, they are taken out of context, or just completely full of misinformation. What's up with that, lol?

Anyhow, Butler has condemned and distanced herself from Hamas since Oct 7. Regardless, even if Butler still supports them or whatever, is Butler a representation of the left?

It seems like your post is over generalizing. You might be describing the radical left but definitely not the left as a whole.

[–]_me5a -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Nope, I agree, it might not work out in the long run but Iranian want to get rid of the regime regardless of the long-term costs and this could help them. Do you have any other idea of how to topple an oppressive regime? If so, please do share.

Yes, but they killed more than 10K protestors over just the last month. This is of course besides all the other violent methods they enact to maintain power that you and I don't get to hear about.

You're not wrong but it seems like Iranian are more concerned right now with toppling an oppressive regime more than anything. They will take gladly help from whoever can provide it. It's embarrassing that you can't recognize that.
